Fault on self levelling suspension on omega causes it to raise to full height as original poster highlighted, but rock hard!

Advice would be get a trade-club card mate!

Check this thread, you may be surprised!....

Looks tempting but... club rules say:

(A) 6 cyl only
(B) Up to Omega B

I have a facelift diesel.

Silly club rules. I joined  vauxhall-opel drivers club got my TC card within 3 weeks brilliant savings cost me 10 quid to join ( going up )and have already saved 80 quid

Hi Guys
I did this a couple of weeks ago took just about an hour and required  a socket 10 mm extension bar and a phillips screwdriver.

I started by taking fog light surrounds off and undoing the two philips screws holding the headlight washer units off and the lower securing bolt.
Then removed front grill to expose the screw bolts holding the lower headlight surround and removed surround.
I then removed the two bolts holding the top of headlights and then unclip the three electric connectors. ( more room to remove plugs when lamps are able to pull forward. )
Reverse the procedure to assemble then down to your frendly mot matey to check headlight aim but to be truthfull if the doner lamps are off another vehical they should be near set
As i say took about an hour and it is well worth it I can now drive down unlite roads and see the road  8-)
YOU ALL TAKE CARE NOW

Thanx 4 that will be making some calls in morning see whos where and what they offer. Going to try local and then widen search.

Just one question though  if I remove the ABS unit but leave pump inplace can the car still be driven or will the brakes be in affective, I am persuming that I can remove electronic bit without disturbing the hydralics so making reasembly easier

Omega General Help / Battery Voltage
« on: 12 February 2008, 14:59:39 »
Hi Guys
Now I hope I can explain this properly so please be understanding

A fully charged battery should I think read 12.6v and a charging battery should be 13.8v ish showing that the alternator is doing its job. Now if the battery over night drops to 11.8v can I assume that the battery is faulty. Now it does not matter if the car is standing overnight or a few days so I don't think I have a circuit draining the battery.
Now if various sencers are expecting 12+v and don't get it they show a fault and switch of ie TC, now after driving a few mins stop and switch engine off and restart all is ok. On checking the ECU no faults are stored but the code reader shows  low voltage.
Just one other thing if you start the car and leave it ticking over for five mins no faults whatsoever.
Is my thinking correct and the battery is on its way out or am I missing something
cheers guys  :y

Yeah 50 miles/50mph...but as said...undo the 6 bolts holding the prop shaft onto the rubber donut and tie it to the exhaust and you can tow it at whatever speed you like for whatever distance without difficulty :)

And preferable with a towbar as brakes are not as powerful without engine running  :y

Omega General Help / Head lights
« on: 28 January 2008, 10:24:13 »
Hi Guys
I think this has been covered befor but just can't locate it. As you can see I have a 1995 elite is it possible to fit semi face lift lights I know the facelifts are totally different.
My lights seem a little dindy on the lens's and I see that the slightly newer ones are clear, just an extra candle  would help but the wind keeps blowing them out ;D
Thanks again guys

oh if any one is breaking one close by and wanna sell me there nice clear ones that would be a bonus  :y

Omega General Help / Re: still unclear
« on: 22 January 2008, 11:00:09 »
Hiya
Ok i'll try to explain ( but I new to omegas as well )
1st a key from scapper will not work your car and I am assuming the key you have starts car so you need a copy from some one who can copy the code and cut the key to suit your locks. some places do it all some don't, I had my keys copied including chip in key and they work perfect.
2nd you need a RF fob from an omega now this needs to be matched with your cars system and that can only be done by a tech 2 owner or Vauxhall. I obtained 2 fobs off fleabay and had em programed and they work fine too

So I started with 1 key 1fob now have 3 keys and 3 fobs all work fine certain high street locksmith / cobbler did my keys read the chip code off my key and programed the others but they can't do fobs and not all branches have key coder

Hope that helps

Omega General Help / TC Button
« on: 22 December 2007, 20:50:47 »
Hi Guys
Could someone tell me if the TC switch on the dash is a click on/off or a momentry switch. Appart from going out wheel spinning waiting for the TC light to flash ( before wrapping it round a tree ) how do I know its working. I have sorted the abs out it was a wheel sensor.
I have removed the switch and two pins are perminant linked and the third links if switch is pressed. which pins are live when ignition is switched on on the loomside or could wires have been disconnected so I have no TC   :-/

Any way guys you all have a wonderful CHRISTMAS and if ya gunna drink get the other half to drive your beloved toy... AFTER ALL THEY DESERVE A TREAT OCCASIONALLY  ;D
