Ouch, cant afford to, I will put up with the error message, it goes nicely with the engine management light that is always on due to the lambda sensor issues.

Omega General Help / 3.2 V6 Elite Coolent Level
« on: 31 October 2009, 15:52:48 »
Hi all

I have just started to get a error message on the car when starting it says 'Coolent Level Low'.

It is not low though, the coolent in the header tank is at the correct level.

Any ideas please?

I have jiggled the little floats inside the header tank to see if they are stuck down but this has not worked.

Many thanks

MJ

Check the tyres for ovality and whether the tread is flat.  More than once I have had the same problem for it to be diagnosed as crap tyres.

Omega General Help / Re: Error Codes - Tech2
« on: 23 February 2008, 14:32:19 »
Many thanks for the feedback, I guessed this is what the prob was after the feedback from all the guys here on the forum.

This whole process started off when my local dealer (Picador Eastleigh) wanted over £2k plus vat to fix the problem.

I had the car MOT's at an independent garage and the emmissions where fine.

Many thanks to VXL V6 and everyone else who has helped my understanding of the problem, why I may even keep the car now!

Omega General Help / Error Codes - Tech2
« on: 23 February 2008, 14:05:58 »
Hi all

I need a little help from someone who knows how to use the Tech2 please.

I have finally got the Tech2 working and it has provided the following error codes:

Tarlot hibakodok vannak!

P0430 Jelen Van
(1) Ismeretlen DTC

P0420 Jelen Van
(1) Ismeretlen DTC

As I cant understand this, or find a reference to the codes P0430 and P0420 I would be grateful if someone can help.

Many thanks

Omega General Help / Opel Tech2
« on: 17 February 2008, 17:08:29 »
Hi All

I recently bought a Tech2 and Opel software (inc TIS 2007 software) to see if I could use this to understand the EMS messages on my 3.2 and maybe clear it.  Today was the first time I got to use the kit.

However, no matter what I try, when I start the software it says 'The Device is Not Connected'.

I have a converter from the serial conn to a USB port on my laptop (running XP) and a COM tester shows this to be working.

Tried connecting in the diagnostics port on the car (under the steering wheel) and switching engine on and off and all the usual combinations)

I realise this could be anything, but can any of the experts with this stuff give me a guide??

Failing that, does anyone wanna make me an offer for this Tech2 and latest Vauxhall diagnostic software (TIS 2007)? :(

Thanks

MJ

Sheesh, I just read the post by Big Rog, thanks for referring me to look for it Kevin.

I have no locking kit for the pulleys so I am gonna leave it for a while, bugger!

Thanks Kevin, I have had a good look around at it (well, as much as I can see) and it looks a right sod of a job.  Not much access even with the plenum and inlet mani off.

I might just cheat for now and put something over the radiator inlet to cut down the efficiency until I feel like spending all weekend messing around with spanners.

Sigh!

Can anyone offer any advice on this, I have an old Haynes Manual (from the 2.5 cdx I had before this 3.2) and the engine is totally different.

I cant see how to get access to the housing on the thermostat without stripping half the engine apart, is there an easy way to do this?

Many thanks

MJ
