Omega General Help / 2.TD auto to manual conversion
« on: 19 September 2014, 22:32:19 »
Hi,

We would like to make a conversion to a 2001MY 2.5TD auto to manual transmission. The car is not mine, I just try to help my friend in the electrical things. There is a good how2 about conversion (I did my 3.0 petrol according this great manual without problem - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90592.0) but now I don't know is there any difference in case of 2.5 TD diesel car?
Could somebody tell me are there any differencies if I want to use the electrical part of this description in case of diesel car or will this work also? - like in my case with the 3.0.
If somebody has already done this mod on a 2.5td please confirm me, or shortly post the differencies.
Thank you
Br

ps. Does anybody live near to Hertfordshire? I want to ask something about a dealer who trade with damaged LHD cars.

Omega General Help / Re: Water under front passenger mat

Hmmm...we've done the job with my friend, he is an expert, we cleaned the surface well, and at bad points we used rust remedy. The idea is great anyway it's worth an experiment, thanks.

I've the same problem, water on the floor (not UK car, so water on the driver's side - left, front and back, but it comes from front). Scuttle is not blocked, I clean it usually every 3-4 mounths.  The biggest problem that I have no idea where the water comes from into the car, windshield was replaced it was an idea, but still fresh water under the mat. I have to remove (cut out.. :(() the whole mat and than I hope I will see what is the cause of my problem.. ??? ???

Hi!

Is it possible to remove the full black ECOTEC label plastic cover from the to of the engine? I would like to clean some stuffs (ICV, throttle body) and I can't see screews at the rear side. That would be great if I wouldn't break something... :P

My friend has a similar problem..
He bought a UK car. In the UK car the feature worked well, but after he has installed the whole alarm system into his EU car (central locking ECU, switch, courtesy light with sensors, alarm horn, etc), the closing/raising feature not working.

My alarm system is also an own installation from a UK car, installation was done on the similar way like above, but mine is working perfectly..I have only 1 problem when I press the keyfob once the alarm system starts to activate itself...but I think it's a programming thing.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Auto dimming mirror
« on: 12 October 2012, 17:44:44 »
Thanks, I've thought this garage door opener thing....but it' possible there will be a problem with the frequency...US - Europe. We've bought a Facelift from Germany, and this kind of mirror is installed with moemory seats - perhaps there are 2 frequencie types are available.
At this moment I have normal auto dim mirror (good for memory function).

So, it would be a nice upgrade...although I haven't got garage yet..:)))

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Factory fitted alarm installation
« on: 21 February 2012, 21:16:56 »
Hi!

I'm planning to install the factory fitted alarm system into my Facelift Omega. As i know the next parts are needed for this:
Central locking controller from a car which was installed factory fitted alarm system
Interior light with the 2 sensors
2 keyfob
Power sounder and siren
Bonnet tamper
Alarm Switch

Can it cause proble if the central ECU and keys are coming from different car?
What kind of programming needed with TECH2?
What kind of problems can occur?
Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Oil Consumption
« on: 30 October 2011, 16:35:29 »
Check singns of any oil leaks, if no leaks then cylinder head valve stems. In case of bad scenario stuck oil control rings. If there is any stem or ring problem you must experience blue smoke (starting - valve stems, accelerating - oil control rings)
