Interesting website; if you're felling flush you can buy the whole top cd unit

Speaker unit for the park pilot is behind the trim on the passenger C post just above the rear seat belt upper mount  At least it was on the one I removed.

Just checked navteq.com and it looks like they're doing a £5 off for orders before 15th Jan, so that would take the cost down to £64.

But I guess keeping an eye out for one on eBay could mean you get it a bit cheaper  ;).

But they seem to be offering the out of date 2008/2009 Disc  :-?

Any new features on the 2009/2010 CD?

You will need a circuit diagram to identify the pin in the wiper main connector that needs to be removed, then the variable resistor is wired in series with it.

I have not yet changed the relay so have a slightly limited range of delay timing.

I've just carried out this mod on my cdx, thanks to all for the pics.

Having changed the stalk, could somebody please clarify the details of the relay that's mentioned above and exactly what effect changing it would have on the intermittent timings?

Very many thanks.:y

On  a facelift I didn't think you had to change any relays. It's just the wiring mod that's needed

On the new stalk looking at the picture,  from left to right
Brown with red stripe
Brown
Brown with white stripe
bottom row
Black with yellow
Spare
Black with white

I'll check the existing wires in the morning

OK, your exisiting Stalk has 3 connections for the MID display and you've now got one with 5  [1] which is for both the MID and the wiper bit.
Connect the Brown with red stripe , Brown, Brown with white stripe to your exisiting MID connector. You may find with a couple of picks you can remove the connectors from within the plastic socket and move them to the old socket. Otherwise it's a case of cutting them and solder them back up.  The Black and Yellow and Black and White are for the variable wiper and connect up as my picture.

What's the colour of the wires?

Took a photo of the wiring today. This is from a 2002 2.6 MV6.

The wiper stalk with the variable intermittent capability has an extra pair of wires that are coloured Black/Yellow and Black/White. (Red Arrows in the pic). Looking down into the switch in situ the top left connector has two wires connected to one socket, again both Black/Yellow and Black/White. Cut the Black and Yellow wire (the Blue Arrows) and connect the two ends to the two wires from the switch. That’s all there is to it.

The picture is of a stalk that doesn't have the connector for the MID. If you've got one of these you'll have a 6 way connector with 3 MID and 2 Wiper wires.

I added the variable wipers to my 02 mv6 as part of a Sat nav/Bose upgrade. All it needed was one of wires to the exisiting wiper stalk cutting and then re-connecting to extra pair of wires on the new variable stalk.

I'll see if I can find my notes on what needs connecting to what. Think is was one of the black/yellow cables.

What for is that large black plastic box? Do i need it to install bose or is it for rear blind?

Also maybe someone of you mates are kind enough to post me some pictures of your bose setup to my email: kait666@hot.ee

it's for the amp to sit in. Looks like this when partly installed.

Though I imagine you could mount the amp elsewhere and keep a bit more boot space.

Anyone got the part no of the correct relay + and approx cost? Mine's got variable delay wipers as an add on so is 4 sec on the slowest setting.

Only problem I can think of with factory fit is no postcode lookup, but it's a very very small gripe.

I thought that some of the later software supported Postcode?

I'm using the 2007/08 CD and there's no postcode  :'( .  I've an offer from Navteq to upgrade to 2008/09 for £66 but I don't know if that will offers anything new.

Apparently a Vectra CD-Changer-cable P/N 9196108 had the correct connector

I haven't installed a Parrott kit but I put a Nokia kit into my Omega which also has an 2013. I used the connector behind the glove box with a lead from http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/Shopping/view_product.php?product=06-102B&searchlink=yes&search=OMEGA&page=1. I also needed one of these http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/Shopping/view_product.php?product=06-212B&searchlink=yes&search=VAUXHALL&page=1 as the output from the phone was too high for the Bose. The Vaxhall mic didn't work with the Nokia kit so I used the Nokia one.
I've only fitted factory parking sensor's. They only need +12v from the reversing lights.
