Omega General Help / Re: Engine electronics warning
« on: 05 July 2008, 22:24:14 »
had this problem with my 2.2, vauxhall garage cleaned the throttle valve and re-programmed the ecu, charged me 90 quid but it solved the fault  :y no problems since then.

its the same as my 2.2 cd, for some strange reason its an optional center arm rest thats supposed to sit in the upper possition then press the lever and drops down to the lower possition. my nose got the better of me and i removed the center console to see what the problem was if any.

weirdly it has all the bells and whistles already in place but theres a sort of alloy cam and lever set up each side of the arm rest where the cams look as though the final machining has not been done the allow this wonderful event to take place :-X

i was going to set about them with a angle grinder but couldnt be bothered ::)

im glad i didnt now it could have deployed the ejector seat!! :)

Omega General Help / Re: Auto box question?
« on: 19 April 2008, 21:17:31 »
does this happen when engine is cold? if so, the ecu holds holds back the gear changes when cold to allow the engine to reach optimum tempreture quicker for more efficient cat function. :y

Omega General Help / Re: Alloy Wheel - Locking Nut
« on: 12 April 2008, 20:46:53 »
i had the same problem with mine because of over tightning if its the same type with the prongs in the socket and the holes in the bolt.

i went to the local scrappy who always have some, find the nearest match, and they told me to do this ,

offer it up to the bolt, hammer on, then slowly loosen. i didnt think it would work but it did and on all four wheels! :y

Omega General Help / auto oil issues
« on: 08 April 2008, 15:39:15 »
my 2.2 cd auto was serviced by vauxhall in november but i am a bit concerned that i cant check my auto box oil. there are no leaks and the big motor drives well but does the computer keep an eye on the oil? and is there a way to check that circuit is operating ok? :-/

dunno if this is any help but worth a try.

i have a facelift model and mine used to do this if i turned the engine off when it was in neutral or drive. so when i started it up again it would take a little longer to start and "check gearbox" light was on. next time it does this:
 put in park,
 switch engine off, remove key,
 restart,
and hopefully this will clear it. :)

mouse in the bumper!!

sorry..... :-[

try some wd40 on your suspension mountings and bushes that may quiet it down and give you a idea where the problem is.
