So, I'm grateful for all the input into this thread but is there anyone out there that can do this or prepared to give it a go?

Thanks

Phil

OK, sounds good.  Do you know where I can get the pin diagram for this ECU?

OK, so it sounds as though it's a less troublesome job.  Do you know where I can get it done?

Thanks for your interest.

VXL V6

My car has an IR fob and so did the one that this ECU comes from.  Does this make it easier or more difficult?

Thanks for your interest.

The have the engine for the ECU.  This is the possible project for later.  This ECU, with immobilser removed should, I understand, work in another car.

I'll give it a go if you could post or PM the details of the re chip service.

Thanks again

Chris

That's great news.  Did you have the immobiliser removed from the ECU in the car or did you do this because of replacement?

Hi Dave

As I understand it, the key ect is coded so that the car will not start unless it has the correct code.  The immobilser chip in the ECU has to be decoded so that I don't need that particular key.  I agree that it is an added security feature but it's just not required on the boat.

So, I need someone who can decode the chip and provide a diagram of the pins on the ECU.

Thanks for your interest.

I have a spare ECU for my 94 Omega Estate. I would like to have the immobiliser decoded/removed. The ECU box is BOSCH 0 281 001 215. I have contacted a number of 'specialists' who show this box as something they can help with but then advise they cannot help me at all.

I have a long term project to place one of these engines in a boat, but first I need to know if it will work. The immobiliser is the first stage, second stage is to find a diagram of the pins so I can match the system.

If I can't get this project off the ground it will still be handy to have an ECU that I can fit if the current one goes South.

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Earlier ECU's (214 and 215, both from U25DT engine) don't really have a 'proper' immobiliser.

Later ECUs (427 and 428, both from X25DT engine) would need the immobiliser ECU to be present, with the transponder taped to it ;)

Engine one had a FOB and engine two is on the key, does that make any difference?

Omega General Help / Is there a way?

Is there a way that you could run a 2.5 diesel outside the vehicle?

I understand that the ECU would need the immobiliser seeing to and I've heard that the pump needs to be matched to the ECU and or the loom.

I'm thinking of a marine project for this engine, anyone had any experience of this kind of project or have any suggestions how I could make it happen?

I'm happy to enter into a consultancy arrangement in order to make this project happen.

Thanks

Phil

49 is glow circuit malfunction
96 is egr solenoidvoltage low

first thing to check is the glow relay and the heater plugs themselves

Thanks for that..the code is saying what I suspected.

could be a couple of things glowplugs or the relay in the box next to the battery.
try briefly(3seconds) touching the g/plug and num 1 with a direct suply from battery(positive) a long screwdriver helps.
If it starts from cold right away its the relay. :y

Thanks, what colour or number socket is the glow plug relay under the bonnet?
