Omega General Help / Re: V6 Hydraulic clutch fluid line clip *HOW?!*

Thanks for the replies guy's!

There is not an old O-ring sat in the end of the pipe - I did check for that but nothing is there, good shout though!

So when you push thet pipe together and the groove that the clip is supposed to sit in is visible, you can push the clip straight through? I was trying that for hours and couldnt get it to clip in!

What did you use to push the clip in as I have tried with my hands, with pliers/grips etc!

Should the clip put much resistance against being pushed in and is there any other hints to go by?

It must sound silly not being able to get one clip in but I've had four people and me try and do it since mid-day yesterday and no progress has been made!!

Cheers,

Gary

Omega General Help / V6 Hydraulic clutch fluid line clip *HOW?!*
« on: 06 February 2008, 22:39:12 »
Hi there!

I have an Omega V6 that I have just replaced the clutch on, but am having an absoloute nightmare on the clutch hydraulic fluid line. It is the point where it is disconnected from the solid pipe by the master cylinder near the bulkhead/drivers side cylinder head. There is a little clip which retains the fluid line which I cannot get back in for love nor money! Does anybody have any experience in how to do this as I am at a complete loss here! The rest of the job has gone smoothly!

I have tried pushing the pipe in with the clip already in the female (solid pipe) end, and that doesnt work. I have also pushed the male end in to the female end and then tried pushing the retaining clip down through the whole lot and that doesn't work either!

Any help much appreciated as I need to get the car up and running tonight

Cheers,

Gary
