Omega General Help / Re: Sensor or Immobiliser

1) Do you have a small back dome on the plastic trim on the roof liner near the rear view mirror (I am guessing not). YES THERE IS

2) Did it start doing this after you changed the battery in the remote or before? BEFORE I CHANGED THE BATTERY IN REMOTE

3) if you open the key up, is there a small back chip inside or just an empty recess where one should be fitted? NO CHIP - EMPTY RECESS

Thanks guys. Bought chip, fitted into key & got reprogrammed by Tech2 today - all for £87 which is not too bad I think for a main dealer (it makes sense now - I got this car off my mate as it had been left standing for 9 months. The muppet lost the main key & had given me the spare without letting me know).

The only problem I have now is the EML is staying on which I'm guessing could be down to the ICV as it fluctuates sometimes, cutting out once in a blue moon. It probably needs a good motorway run & a bit of brake cleaner here & there. Other than that, some pads all round & a new middle exhaust box & it runs as sweet as a nut - all thanks to you guys who saved it going to the breakers. Thanks again - I'm now off to do that paper clip thing for the EML!

Omega General Help / Sensor or Immobiliser
« on: 17 February 2008, 03:04:24 »
Hi everyone - got a 2.0 cd Omega N reg which will not start. It was stood for several months & had a flat battery so I put in a new one. As soon as I turned the key in the ignition the EML starts flashing. So I put new battery in keyfob & reset it by putting into ignition, pressing keyfob button & the CL clicked to show the key was working it all. I turn the key in the ignition & the EML is still flashing.

There is loads of fuel in the tank, I changed the fuel filter & when I spray Easystart down the airpipe the car STARTS up every time but as soon as I stop spraying the Easystart the engine cuts out.
It's as if the injectors are not releasing the fuel (fuel is coming up from the tank as I took the pipe off on engine) or whatever controls the injectors is not working. The purple relay on pass. side engine bay is clicking ok.
I did notice a fair amount of oil down the plugs so cleaned it all up & the plugs but I know there's spark otherwise the Easystart wouldn't start the engine.

Immobiliser or Sensor? Hope someone can help. Thanks
