Omega General Help / engine cutting out
« on: 30 December 2009, 20:11:20 »
A couple of weeks ago (snowy weather) my 2.6 Auto miggy was ok for most of the day, then went on a very short journey. turned off the engine for a few minutes, then when I returned to the car the engine wouldn't start-turned over, but wouldn't start. got it started with a jump start, figured it was the battery so had new battery fitted next day. Today (rainy) went on a long journey, sitting in a queue (in drive) and the engine just cut out! Couldn't restart it, so pushed it with help-(thank you to the nice man who got soaked helping me!) to a parking space where about 10 mins later the engine started and I gingerly made it home.
Anyone else had a similar problem? Ta.

« on: 23 June 2008, 18:54:34 »
Hi I have also had the same problem with my alarm going off when I turn on the ignition but also now the siren alarm keeps going off when the car is locked, had this problem about 4 years ago when the main dealer replaced faulty siren-cost best part of £200! Can't beleive this can be the same problem so soon  again.

Omega General Help / alarming alarms!!
« on: 23 June 2008, 18:47:14 »
Hi all, my alarm keeps  going off at irregular intervals. I had this problem in 2004 when the main dealer " carried out tech 2 test ref beeping from alarm, trouble code sored p121 and p122 carried out actuator test and data display test checked circuit and traced fault to siren, replaced faulty siren to cure cleared codes!!!!!!!!!!!" This cost £200!!!!!!!! Surely this can't happen again, or can it?? I love the car but I can't believe how much money it keeps costin in these type of faults: been driving for more years than I care to remember and have never spent so much on one car!!! Would so appreciate some advice :-[ :( >:(

Omega General Help / warped brake discs
« on: 21 February 2008, 18:24:46 »
Evening all

My omega has juct failed its MOT apparently due to warped brake discs. The dealer reckons that this is a common problem on omegas, although two other garages have said they didn't think it was. Before I fork out the expense of getting them sorted (not that I don't believe the dealer or anything!!) I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem-the car has just reached 40,000 miles.

Cheers   :-/
