No, just standard manual. I have noticed some older posts with similar problems but seemingly too technical replies for me.

Omega General Help / Loss of Power - Limp Home Mode?
« on: 27 August 2015, 18:43:42 »
I have a 2002,  2.2DTi and on two occasions , both whilst towing caravan, for no apparent reason the ignition warning light comes on and power drops significantly, but doesn't cut out engine. First time I called out Green Flag and they couldn't find any problem , the car restarted and away we went. Last week on the M6, it happened again and I pulled over, turned off engine, and restarted and no probs since. Apart from this, the car is running superbly well, but the worry when towing is the drop in power. One advice was turbo switch? Any help would calm our nerves when towing and waiting for it to happen again. My local garage can't find anything.

As matter of interest to all, I made the mistake of buying a 2.2DTI with only I key without realising the cost and hassle of a replacement. Last weekend I was opening the drivers door with the key in my hand and as I got into the car and pulled the door shut, the key tip unbelievably got stuck into a narrow channel in the door frame and snapped off. Fortunately I was in Green Flag but it took a lift on low loader to get me home. The upshot is, I was given a contact who got the pin number from Vauxhall, visited me at home and cut a new key, all on the same day. The web site if you are in the North West is autolocksmiths.co.uk. Check them out.

Thanks Achoo81 for the welcome
I joined the caravan club last year - You are right there is lots of useful ( and crucial) info about weights / tow cars etc. Finding a reputable dealer in our area might be a bit more difficult. The biggest problem is finding caravan storage.

Hi fellow Omega owners.
I recently bought a 2.2CD DTi 2002 model. Great car and now looking for a caravan so we can go touring.

General Discussion Area / Towing limits
« on: 06 June 2008, 22:42:56 »
I am new to caravanning and am uncertain as to the exact sfe weights I can tow. I have a 2.2 DTi with a kerb weight of 1614 kgs. All the advice states a max of 85% tow limit which restricts the choice if one wants to buy a fixed bed layout van. Most have a max weight of 1480 - 1500 kgs. Anybody with experience of towing would be appreciated.
