Omega General Help / Opinions Please!!
« on: 21 May 2010, 08:37:16 »
My 1998  2.5 auto tractors  gear box will happily take me to and from work 26 mile round trip no worries, however if i drive then into city centre, within 20 mins of driving  it wont change up etc   and autobox flashes up limp home mode etc,  auto fluid was drained 2 weeks ago, if anything its worse since replacement.  I like the car  and have spent a few quid ( for a scotsman) on it to keep it running , Is this worth replacing ?   If so does anyone know what kind of money is involved in getting done  as too big for me.

My local mechanic looked at me as if i had 2 heads when i mentioned the 3.0 box conversion.

thanks

Phil

I dont want to sound cheesey but now I realise why these forums are here .

Thanks

Omega General Help / omega td belt snapped
« on: 25 March 2010, 09:01:08 »
hi folks

i was driving to work  this morning when my steering went heavty and batt light came on , i nursed it to the local morrison car park ( my god the steering was heavy)  pulled bonnet  and the small belt i assume that wraps around power steering and water pump had snapped, fair enough ive never changed it  but the serp belt seemed to be hanging free as well  but not snapped..

should this happen ??? i was late for work so had to abandon it and will call recovery tonite.

Any opinions please???
