The ones from Tezrays mini f/l fitted perfectly in my P reg non hid elite estate, was just the fact they were hids and i didnt know just how to convert them over?

Right, i obviously want to upgrade my headlights from the standard lights to Hids (preferably, GM original units from the mini f/l)
I was going to have Tezrays 'projectors' but obviously when i realised they were hids, i stopped as i dont really have too much time on my hands due to work and missus commitments lol.
How much work would it take for me to put f/l hids into my elite?

Omega General Help / Re: sideways in auto omega ??

Even a 3.0 V6 wont 'spin up' in dry conditions with decent boots as standard..... no chance with a LSD or welded Diff. (edited to add AUTO.... even the youngest chav in a manual 106 or saxo can create smoke).

Try Krispy Kreme, or whatever they are called.
They are quite literally just around the corner from me (a drive thru doughnut shop, whatever next??) and i have often come home late at night to see the aftermarket HID glare from that general direction as the little boys play the bouncing limiter game :)

One of my old Elite autos would quite happily play sideways if given the right encouragement (and a nice empty private carpark where i used to work lol) The car was being broke for spares many moons ago and i wanted to see if it was any good at sideways. TC off, sport mode on and do everything with kickdown. Takes a bit of getting used to and yes, manual is a lot easier but auto does have benefits ;)

Omega General Help / Re: gearbox in limp mode when cold

Right, i can do technical, just not talk it so bear with me lol.
I used to have a Vectra V6 cdx auto with exactly the same problem. Start car, put into D, autobox fault shows on mid and car goes into limp mode. However, if i left the car to warm up for about 10 minutes, could put into drive and no problem whatsoever.
After a bit of research, it pointed to the auto selector. The lube inside had lost its lube qualities and only regained them when it had warmed up before engaging Drive. Vauxhall say it is a non servicable part however, if you have a steady hand and patience, you can seperate (watching out that you dont lose or misplace the brass contacts and springs that sell the car when it can be turned on for example) you can clean it out and replace with a better quality grease)
Hope this helps somewhat :)

Naff all on tv so i quickly popped outside with the torch and yep, twas fuse 14 (and even my climate control has come back to life!!) I have traced it to the cigarette lighter supply as when i pressed it, it sparked a little so was pulled out sharpish and also left the element hanging from said lighter! Methings ill be retrofitting some bits tomorrow along with all the other jobs (like figuring out why i have no illumination on the digital display on the climate control)
Oh, and technically, it is tomorrow lol

Its heavy at all times. Mine is a P reg Elite if that helps so im unsure if it was fitted with Speed Sensitive Steering or not etc. No other faults at all and everything (apart from my climate control panel which i have to take apart tomorrow as i slightly broke it while fitting the carbon effect stuff) so im wondering if i have knocked something whilst doing this small job lol.

Right, after changing the centre console area from the wood to the mv6 carbon effect stuff, the following day, i noticed the steering had gone really heavy. Tyres are correctly inflated and does not seem to be a drop in the power steering fluid (although i checked while engine had been run, shall double check tomorrow to see level) Cannot see any obviousl leaks or such. No warnings have come up and no weird lights or such so am i looking at something simple or is it the start of the 'approaching 100k faultless miles and now is the time to start paying' lol.

Although proper mechanics isnt my thing (by that i mean engine conversions and stuff that cant be done without a garage) how about the engine from an Rover SD1? I remember my boss putting one in a hilux many years ago without too much problem and that thing went like stink (given its heritage lol)
