I can tell you now its the CS sensor. you'll get code 19. my car did exactly the same thing. ( look for the thred "loss of power by 3500 rpm" )  at 3500 rpm it starts to stutter / cut out.  :y

You were correct code 19 came up after paper clip test; thanks Mark.

Tyre on my 2.5 saloon wearing on outside edge, thought it could be lower ball joint on wishbone. But after having a good look can't see nothing wrong with ball joint. Had all tracking checked by son inlaw who work's for ATS, more play on wishbone front bush n/s than o/s and quite a bit of play in drop link's on both side's. Can anybody throw any light my way.

many thank's
Mark

I would be checking the front wheel camber and the steering idler arm.

Its possible you have to little camber on the near side which can cause outer edge wear.

Also, do you go round many roundabouts?

Definitely a possibility... I used to see a lot of N/S/F tyre wear on the outer edge when MOTing cars in Basingstoke as there are loads of roundabouts!!!

Yes i go round many roundabouts.

Kent is like  Bracknell for roundabouts.

Had son inlaw have a good look at wishbones, and he found a lot of play, on n/s, more so than o/s.
