yeah sounds like a good price but he did say that's for a bog standard glass. which is fine by me.

I'm still in two minds whether to get a new cheap car now though

Omega General Help / crack in windscreen
« on: 22 May 2008, 16:20:30 »
opps, MOT tomorrow, what a load of hassle, spent last month trying to fix engine, and get home and there is a big crack in the windscreen.

NOT covered by insurance as only third party fire and theft.

just about ready to pick car up and drop it on it's head or mine.

quoted £450, just not worth it now, any offers for parts etc?

Omega General Help / Re: engine not firing on number one
« on: 22 May 2008, 14:10:46 »
don't think the ecu light is on

I'm just wondering if i inadvertenly messed up the injector rail, i tried to take electical conectors off and one spring popped off, not sure if mechanic put it back on. it would have been the first one from the front of the engine or the second one.

Omega General Help / engine not firing on number one
« on: 22 May 2008, 12:51:46 »
HI, recently replaced cam gaskets car still not runnibg properly.

Took her to vauxhall no codes, but not firing on cylinder 1, spark is there (but may be weak), compression is fine, BUT no sign of any pertrol, so could it just be plenham not put on right or is it injecters or something else. running out of cash for this. the chap at vauxhall doesn't recon it is coil pack. have to do it myself from now on.

Omega General Help / coil/dsc pack update
« on: 24 April 2008, 22:34:37 »
Hi all, well i have taken the car apart, turns out as a few suggested that it was the rocker cover gasket that caused the whole problem not the dis pack. the plugs were flooded in oil.

spoke to a man at vauxhall who said that is the casue of most of the problems.

so a big thanks to peole who posted how to's and advice.

i'm cleaning the breather stuff at the mo to ensure it doesn't repeat.

great fun taking everything apark except the spme of the wiring. lol hope that works whjen i put it all together.

NB. i have cam covers off now so apart from HBV and crank case breather and cleaning plenum what else should i do while i'm there.

kind regards
