now you confused me,i search breathers and found a link where there are 2 pipes,1 small and 1 larger,no info but just a pic, these look very easy just on side of engine, then i got sent a link where they say clean crankcase sensor breathers under that big silver bit on top middle of engine, its mayo related stuff and i assumed that it wasnt crankcase sensor breather, just the general engine breather or are these things the same thing, sorry for my ignorance ::)

« on: 22 March 2008, 09:42:57 »
hi,im not saying im a sticky driver, lol, but my door lock gets stuck in the open position when i use fob to lock the doors, some days its fine and other days it just wont work(all 3 other doors work fine),i have looked through the service records and receipts to see that it has been changed in the past too.is this common and can i repair it myself,ie just a lube problem or something easy...cheers

thanks for info, i thought shell helix was good as it cost £59 with a £7.50 top up from vx main dealer(marshalls),i didnt pay tho ;),can you recommend a good oil,i drive my cars hard but with respect, and lastly i did think of putting something round the neck of the oil filler tube but then i thought about the fire risk, can felt be safly used or should i try to get hold of a piece of fireblanket etc...ps,you have put my mind at rest as i keep thinking headgasket...cheers

Omega General Help / condonsation build up in oil filler
« on: 19 March 2008, 07:29:06 »
hi,i have a 2.5 petrol,i use it for big fishing trips all over the country and france,it runs with no probs, but unfortunatly i work about 3 miles from where i live, hence it does a lot of short journeys and i get the impression that these cars dont like it too much as i get white sludge build up just inside oil filler(about half an eggcup full a fortnight).i dont believe its head gasget as i clean sludge away from cap,do a 300 mile journey, and its still nice and clean with no oil/water loss...is there something i could do to minimise this except do a lot of miles regulary
