People in Spain are aghast that electric is going up 3.1% this month. UK price rises are astronomic. It would be interesting to see what price rises the French companies are able to inflict on their customers while inflicting 8% or whatever on their UK customers............
Of course you will have deja vu in years to come with Postal prices. Enjoy the share price increase now.![]()
The subsidies paid to wind generation are massive.
The cost of buying wind generation off at periods of low demand is massive.
It's a private industry which is exposed to the global energy markets.
Japan became the worlds largest importer of gas virtually overnight as a consequence of the tsunami, causing a dramatic rise in wholesale gas prices.
The National Grid balance the mechanism, the cost is met by the suppliers and hence the consumers.
It's populist politics, a con, it's unworkable garbage.

I don't think this government are any better, they have no energy policy either.
