Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Alarmed!
« on: 02 May 2010, 11:57:50 »
Since the bad weather I have been having a problem with my alarm going off for no reason, but only the siren,no sounder or lights, it seems to be any time the car gets wet, after it's been washed ,in the rain or going through a puddle,I tried disconeccting the unit in the drivers footwell,it made no difference, except the central locking stopped working,I have sprayed wd40 on everything I can see that is to do with the alarm,to no avail, any help would be nice as people keep looking at me as if I've stolen it as I drive along the roads with the siren blasting,..Cheers   Tony

The dimmer does still work, but I found that with the blue or red LEDs the MID was hard to see in the day and the switches were blinding at night.
I found the MID hard to see in daylight after fitting blue LEDs,Every thing else was OK, so I went to a craft shop and bought some blue glass paint and dipped the original bulbs, Worked fine, also did the heater controls and airvents.LOOKS GREAT! :y

Hi I changed my CCR600 for a Kenwood KDC-W5534U with a 6 stack autochanger, had to swap yellow and red wires over, and cut and tape electric ariel wire(it took the date away from the display) also found  remote control pack in Halfords £4.99 had to run extra wire from panel lights to multiplug under ignition cowling all very easy BEWARE the airbag light wiring is in the centre console, my light came on for no reason!..... Good luck and dont be afraid it's easy even I managed it.....2tone  :y

Omega General Help / Re: LOWERED WITH 18" WHEELS
« on: 25 August 2009, 20:16:10 »
Cheers Chaps,All the work was done at the service centre at my work, they have the very latest 4 wheel laser equipment, and it still cost me a small fortune, even though I work for the same company :-? so it should be set up right,it seems to make more noise when the wheels are turned to the left,we've had a look at bottom wishbones, stuck a jemmy bar in and tried to move 'em all looks ok,bearings have no sign of play, and nothing's rubbing.so I'm stumped , Might put the 15"wheels back on to see if it helps :'( cant make any sense of this ! :(

Hi Alan, It does seem to be doing better on fuel if you believe the MID it says I'm getting 26-32 mpg around town(It's an auto) compared to 19mpg from the V6,The main reason for downsizing was mechanics run screaming from the workshop when they see a V6 Omega coming in,And it always cost £300+ :( Regards.....2tone
