Omega General Help / Auto to Manual conversion
« on: 01 April 2008, 23:24:03 »
I have an S plate 3.0 MV6 auto and have acquired a 95 N plate 2.0 16v manual. Is it possible to use the parts from the 2.0 to make the v6 a manual  or did the v6's and 2.0ltrs run different manual gearboxes?

I'm definitely keeping the white mv6 its newer and quicker lol.
The green one is a definite head gasket. General consensus on the white one (v6) is that its more likely to be oil cooler than hg so we shall see. Will also be needing cambelt kit and rocker cover gaskets.

The yellow car behind the green omega is a firenza (viva coupe) in need of much tlc.

~Yup anopther newbie  ;D

Well I have recently acquired two omega estates.

The first is an ex police MV6 estate in white, think it was an unmarked car by the looks of things. I bought it blind needing an oil cooler but tbh expecting it to be headgaskets. The intention was to strip it and use the engine for a project but having got it. I'm now very tempted to keep it.

The second is a 2.0 16v manual estate again with the beginnings of headgasket failure. I intend to transfer a load of bits across from this namely roofbars, rear boot carpet and locking panels and if possible the manual box. And probably break the rest of the car for parts.

Heres some pics of the white one!

And a quick one of the pair.
