Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Radio mute

Mine is a 2001 with CCR2006 BOSE. Do I need something special because of this BOSe sound system? I read somewhere that BOSE system would need a relay or something to avoid damaging the amp. At the moment I've got Nokia CARK91 modified to fit PoPort -phones, but it uses Nokia's own speaker and has no mute-function (don't really need the mute, I've also got a passive handset) and it would be nice to have display displaying the "Message", phone sound from "real" speakers and the mute...but i'm worried that can I damage the amp by doing what is told above?

I suggest talking to this chap as he appears to know it all.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / RESULT!

To repeat last post:
http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/06-102RB.html
Terry at Sio Communications has confirmed that if your Omega has the hidden loom behind glovebox you require the '06-102B' lead.
CCR2005 or better unit does not require a relay, all others require '06-100' relay.
Prices are a little less than other 'Autoleads' suppliers.
The whole kit eliminates the need to remove radio & try to squeeze the connectors behind.
I am told it will connect the mic in light & volume is controlled from steering wheel.
The '06-102B' has fitting for latest Nokia kit, a cheap adapter required for all others.

I can confirm the whole job takes 5 minutes. Simplicity itself. Only problem I had was that my built-in mic did not work & had to run the Nokia one up to head-lining by mirror.
Volume of incoming call is controlled by steering wheel radio buttons.
Radio returns as soon as call ended.
In my case even finding the loom was easy. Just released the three studs fixing lining behind glove box and reach up, there it was.
Total cost: £38. (£32 if you have recent Nokia kit)

Is this perhaps useful for your 'How to' section.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Radio mute FAO:THE BOY

Hi again, I think this link explains all. The picture at bottom of page is the loom I have found behind glove box. I read it as suggesting I need the relay but it does not state where to install on Omega. Your views would be apreciated before I order. I have a Nokia Cark 134 hand free kit.
To remind you I have 2.5cdx yr2000 with built in mic.

Hi, I have a 2000 2.5 cdx with CCR2006 fitted. I have located the radio mute cable above glove box but it does not fit any connectors on my hands free kit. What is needed / what does it connect to? Does this connector power hands free kit? Many thanks in anticipation.

HEATER BYPASS VALVE: Sundy 11th March. Having been quoted ridiculous prices by various garages, forum member Andy B has just replaced mine (Total stranger, as a favour). Took one hour. Very grateful. Nice chap with understanding wife!

Omega General Help / Heater bypass valve?  Any advice?
« on: 05 March 2007, 08:38:45 »
2002 V6 cdx auto. I have a leak from what I thought was a heater hose behind engine. My local garage think it's a valve and say it's a big job. After 5 days they still have not come up with a price, stating waiting to hear from Vauxhall dealer.. They guess £100-£150 for part and 4 hours labour. (Remove wiper mechanism etc) Am only able to do 2-3 miles before warning shows and don't like using it but like walking less!. Any one familliar with this job.

Thank you John, is it something I can ignore for a while as an irritating rattle turns out to be broken front spring! (In KwikFit as we speek, £280 to do both)

Omega General Help / 'Beeping' when leaving vehicle??
« on: 09 October 2006, 09:12:18 »
On leaving my 2.5cdx, before locking, I occasionally get 3 or 4 'beeps'. No reference in hand book. Any one know what this is? Many thanks.

For what it's worth and purely my opinion (but with some experience),any slow running at busy times is usually the user's network busy ( particularly with BT ), not your own server. Yabb 2.1 is a well proven & stable system. If all members + the same number of guests were on at same time your server should cope 100 times over.
