Went to vaux dealer in the local area after searching them down via Yell.

Anyhoo; even they were baffled by the light arrangment and said that my car should have this, i went shut it and get me these bulbs please' to which he returned with COMPLETELY DIFF bulbs to what i had in the car.

So put them in and WAHEYYYYYYYY  ;) it works fine now.  Brakes arent stiking on and all working well!!!

But got this for you guys to look at:  when i was putting the bulbs in under the carpet this came to my attention!

the blind and rear speakers work fine; so where is this supposed to be connected to then:

thanks os much for all your suggestions, really apreciate it!

thanks so much guys

if its a bulb; honest guys ill slap myslef and then allow everyone you gys to do it too!

Ill admit, im a bit scared now, because i did change the bulbs on both sides; HOWEVER; i ensured i bought the correct bulbs from the halford in store guide; now lesson learned, i shall go to VAUXHALL and see if it makes a differernce, they are only bulbs so wont cost a fortune!

I know what I'm after and still find a lot of these Guides confusing!!

Before you rush out for new bulbs... Take the old ones out and try turning the lights on... You'll get Headlamp/Tail lamp warning come up but if the bulbs aren't in then they can't complete the circuit!!

We might be wrong but that's the most common problem... Quite often they get forced in the wrong way around (offset pins dictate correct orientation of bulb in holder) and can short across both pins!  :y :y

Oh, and I wasn't having a dig at you by the way... My pet hate is people who change headlamp bulbs and manage to get them in the wrong position so they blind every other person on the road at night!!  >:( >:(

no harm done mate; tbh thank you for the help; without the so called "rant" lol i wouldnt have known.  I really hope its not though, because im gana feel so damn stupid i might just delete my user and re-register on here!lol

Im going to check it in a bit, and am of to vauxh to buy some climate control bulbs and so will puirchase the others too; im not a halfords person, but was desparate for the bulbs; new area so didnt know where vaux was! bad mistake; i do now!

check fluid level in box. :y

i sound so bloomen stupid saying this; but is there an auto box dipstick?  i havent really seen it tbh anywhere in the bay; but will look on the pics provided by the site and locate it; will let you know.

Its only when i move the selector around from reverse to drive to 3rd; all the selector lights come on and then the fault message comes on the display!

i cant see it being the brake switch staing on; as when the headlights are OFF, then the brake lights perform correctly!  So it cant be the adjuster being too loose!

going to check the earth; car is out at the mo; see what goes!

Behind the rear panle in the boot - as in where the spare tyre is?

And yes the high level brake light stays on tooo

How could an earth casue the lights to stay on i wonder; though i will check asap!

Ill report back with the findings; take it off givei t a good clean and see what goes from there!

Dear All,

Im new to the frum; have a V reg 2.5 Elite with the works attached to it; its an AUTO but has a few niggles i need your help with please.

When i switch on the headlights, the brake lights stay permanently on!  But with the headlights off; they operate correctly!

Do you guys have any idea of what the problem could be?

Also, the AUTO gearbox has a mind of its own i think.  Ocassionally it will come up on the dash as "Auto Gearbox" and then it wont select any gears i.e stuck in third i think; once i swthc it off and on again; its fine, Ive had the module changed, still to no avail

Any helps guys would be greatly appreciated

Omega General Help / The heating doesnt work
« on: 29 October 2008, 17:09:33 »
Hello all,

Im in need of your help please.

The heating in the car has stopped working now; i dont know what it is!

CAR: OMEGA MINI FACELIFT 2.5 ELITE, CLIMATE CONTROL w A/C

Ive tried to do some searching and some threads suggest it is the HEATER BYPASS VALVE.

The engine is not overheating, nor is it not heating up, by that i mean it reaches operating temperature like it should, perfectly fine.

Im not loosing any water anywhere, and all the pipes that i could reach are warm; howevver all i get is COLD AIR being blown in!

Do you guys know what it is; or whati  can do to try and eliminate the problem.

Regards

Saboor
