Omega General Help / Fuel Flap Locking Motor/Rod problem
« on: 07 August 2008, 08:48:14 »
When I purchased my Omega (1999 "V" 2.0 CD with 98k) the fuel flap locking motor was not working. Infact the rod was just out enough to lock the flap, which was amusing when it came to fill it up.

Sussesed out how to remove it and move the rod manually. Its been on my "to replace" list for sometime and I ordered a used, working one off ebay. Fitted it Tuesday night and it worked fine. Fully retracting and fully going back in.

Wednesday night, i was fiddling with the car (Clearing leaves from scuttle panel because I park under tree's at work) and though id check the petrol flap. Locked, wouldnt open. I thought maybe there is a timer and its re-locked itself. So i locked the car fully (lock button pressed twice) and then unlocked. Flap still locked.

The damn motor has packed or something again as the rod does not move!!!

Now I KNOW it did work. So maybe its something on my car?

I can't see what you have done?

Looks the same to my 2.0 CD, except the pipe is a bit longer that entrers the lower box from the front bumper?

I had the same problem... I was thinking of cleaning it in situ but thought it MUST come off.

I just bashed it with set of mole grips carefully and then it pulled off.

It was very awkward.

Try some lubricant on the inside of the joint...

Omega General Help / Lowering options?
« on: 21 July 2008, 21:37:39 »
Springs alone are around 30-40mm, Do Vectra suspensions bits fit?

Is this enough to make the 'mig look low? (euro style low)

Ive done a photoshop, but I think realistically the drop pictured is probably 60 ish mm

Does anyone have some second hand/spare lowering springs and can fit them in the Bristol Area?

I think you get...

Lights with reflectors > Projectors > Projectors with HID.

If its a continuous hiss then the vac pipe assembly may have come off the back of the direction controls (can be disturbed when radios are hand fistedly fitted!).

A short hiss is down to the vac bing released at the back of the selector switch and is perfectly normal.

Its only short, like a mini dump valve!

Glad its normal!

Thank you!
