Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Quick xenon Question
« on: 23 November 2006, 22:40:10 »
Just to add my xenons shudder when going over bumps in the road, I mostly notice it from the left hand side.

They also dont move when turing on, but have seen them move down when parking on a hill near a wall, someone also commented that you should see the lights move if you turn them on then start the car, mine dont move at all, so I am wondering if my motors could do with cleaning.

Is it easy to get to the mechanism to clean them up?

Omega General Help / metal oil filter problem
« on: 05 July 2008, 13:52:54 »
hi everyone

i decided to change my oil today due to it being in a really bad way and i have got the metal container version with the paper filter.

i have tried to undo the cap with a 24mm 1/2 socket but it just will not budge at all and the bolt has started to round off.

does anyone know if i can cut it off so i can convert it to the metal oil filter what i can get it off with now without cutting at it.

Omega General Help / slow gear change when cold
« on: 21 June 2008, 19:15:34 »
hello everyone

can someone please advise me on a little problem with my automatic gearbox and idling.

when i drive it when cold first thing in the morning it does not change from 1st to 2nd gear for about 15 seconds it just seems to rev. vauxhall have informed me its natural due to cat converter warming up or something like that
i myself am not sure will cleaning the automatic selector switch help in any way if so whats the best way to do it.

also when started cold the revs are at the 1200 mark and sound very noisy but when warmed up it idles at 500 with a slight vibration.
i have cleaned the icv and throotle body and all other breathers.

cheers :-/

Omega General Help / urgent cambelt change
« on: 08 June 2008, 21:20:27 »
hi there

does anyone know of a good cheap garage in the west midlands area which can fit a cambelt kit cheaply as i cannot afford vx price tag of £415 which also includes the water pump changing as well.

i have got the cambelt change  dvd but i am unable to do it  due to back trouble after i was involved in an accident.

my  car is 96000 and the last owner said he changed it at just over 42k

any help would be very much appreciated.

cheers steve

Omega General Help / Re: Strange Running Temp
« on: 30 July 2007, 18:03:35 »
My 98 2.5 V6 also does the same, always runs at or just below 95, but in hotter weather will fluctuate a lot between 95 and 100, never had it over heat so far.

Omega General Help / Re: Beam Level Sensor
« on: 13 April 2007, 19:33:31 »
Sorry to hi-jack this thread.  How do you know if the sensors arnt working?  Do you get the error message come up on the screen.

I sometimes notice my xenons moving but not all the time and sometimes get flashed at as if I have my lights on high beam, which incidentally I dont!

Have only seen the FLD error once and that was when I had removed one of the headlight units as it was damaged.

Cheers,

Stu

Omega General Help / Re: Dead Locking Problem
« on: 12 April 2007, 21:40:08 »
Well it seems my car has a little electrical gremlin, the deadlocking seems to work when it feels like it.

Also today the steering wheel buttons have been playing up.  The volume up button turned the radio down, as did the volume down button, the mute button would then turn the radio up or mute depending on how it felt.

I have squirted some electrical spray in the switches which seems to have helped so will have to see how it goes!

Wish me luck!

Stu
