Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Cruise Control Switches
« on: 17 December 2009, 21:41:52 »
Thanks TB. Only thing I can do is try it. Do you know if a brake switch can be used as clutch switch?. My VX stealer wants £45 for a clutch one.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Cruise Control Switches
« on: 17 December 2009, 13:23:32 »
I have a question re brake switch for Omega cruise control. I have a 97 Omega 2.0 CD and have fitted all the other parts for cruise control and only have to fit the brake and clutch switches. I was told I needed a 4 pin brake switch so I went out and bought one at the cost of £24.50, fitted it then found that the connection for my orignal brake switch has only 2 pins. Is that all that is needed or would I have to get a feed to the other 2 pins from somewhere else?. I have also been advised that my old 2 pin brake switch should work as a clutch switch?. I'd appreciate any advise as this is driving me nuts.

Forgot to add....it's a manual

Thanks TB
It's a 96/97 so maybe it will work with the 2 pin switch. I'll fit the clutch switch and try it. The rest of the wiring was normal....as in the stalk ( 4 wires ) and the wiring under the bonnet so hopefully cruise might work without the need for a 4 pin switch.

I guess I'll figure it out on my own then  :D

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Yet another cruise problem
« on: 23 July 2009, 15:11:27 »
Today I went to fit the 4 pin brake switch I bought to enable the cruise control I fitted, however when I pulled the plug off it seems to only have 2 wires. I also found a small white plug with 2 round connectors....clutch switch plug?. Is there any possibility of wiring 4 wires to my new brake switch or am I screwed?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Delco CDR500
« on: 22 July 2009, 16:38:02 »
This question has probably already been asked in the past so my apologies in advance. Is it at all possible to get code for Delco CDR500 from serial number or do they have to be sent away to get decoded?. It is one I bought without code so unsure if vauxhall could help me as it's not original part of the car

I meant as in unplugging my existing 2 pin brake switch and using it where the clutch switch goes.

I'm not sure if this has already been asked but, I have a 97 Omega 2.0 CD which I have fitted cruise control into. Everything is hooked up under the bonnet and I bought the 4 pin brake switch. My local dealer wants £40 for the clutch switch so I wondered if it is at all possible to use my existing 2 pin brake switch as a clutch switch?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: CCRT700 Headunit

I realise it might be a major pain but I'm up for the challenge. Is the ccrt700 non bose the same principal as the bose version?, as in it using can bus and whatever the rest of the technical jargon is? lol  :y

I'm in the process of buying a non bose CCRT700 H/U and my question is......will I still need to replace my existing display with the CCRT700 GID and if it is at all possible as my display has the yellow plug plus the small black one.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: what's this wire for
« on: 28 February 2009, 14:26:55 »
Only thig I can think of is the wire that goes to the outside temp sensor fixed to the front bumper. That's the only wires I found when I replaced my front bumper a while back.

Do you know which vauxhall headunits will work with steering wheel controls, cd changer and trafficmaster, as I found the Oracle doesn't talk to the sc804 either.
