Thanks for the offer, but judging from most of the other threads found on this subject, I need one from same year, same model.

Omega General Help / 3.0 V6 ABS TC ECU Recon / Replacement
« on: 26 September 2011, 15:16:39 »
Hi Guys

My ABS TC ECU needs replacing as the previously intermittent problem has now become permanent, and I'm developing arms like a gorilla from driving around town with limited power steering.

I'm happy to tackle the job myself, but can anyone advise the best place to get my unit reconditioned, or alternatively the best place to get a s/h unit, or if anybody has one?

V reg, V6 Elite, Auto, 17" wheel.

Thanks

Cheers Jimbob, done.

Having read more, it's now pretty clear that the 2005 is NOT going to work in my Elite. :(
Let's hope someone outbids me on ebay, or I'm going to have a new paperweight!

Hi Rob - Is that because the Omega has more speakers than a Corsa?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDR 2005 to replace CCR 2006
« on: 22 June 2011, 13:30:58 »
It's pretty clear from other posts that a (knackered) Philips CCR 2006 can be replaced with a CDR 2005, so I've got one coming from ebay.
Question - will it fit into the existing cage, or do I need a 2005 cage as well?

7
So could be the case that all I need are the DIN removal keys - seen plenty on ebay, some perhaps better than others?

Great guide, thanks for pointing me in the right direction :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCR 2006 CD tray won't eject
« on: 15 June 2011, 12:42:47 »
Having read other posts and examining the tray, I can see that it is expanded out, suggesting the laser arm motor has failed and is amongst the cd's, and not allowing the cartridge to compress and eject.

Before I buy a new one,  - has anyone seen a case like this where the culprit is NOT the laser arm? ie it may be worth trying the 'power off for an hour' trick or power and eject at the same time?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: CCR 2006 DECODE
« on: 26 August 2008, 19:07:48 »
Happy ending to this topic - I got hold of a manager at Vx and we realised that when they got me a new car pass, nobody actually removed the radio to get the seial number. So, one of their technicians took out the unit, got the serial number, phoned Vx for the correct radio code, they were not willing to give the code over the phone but with a little persuasion they gave it, I entered it and Hey Presto, I got me sounds again. Obviously a previous owner swapped the factory fitted radio for a different unit at some time in the past.

For anyone in the same position, even when trying to enter the code when you are on SAFE 6, it is only a 15 minute wait if you:
turn ignition to position 2, hold AS, power up radio, turn ignition back to position 1.

Sorted.

Anybody know of someone who can decode a CCR 2006 radio in the Maidenhead / Slough, Berkshire area?

My Vx carpass code which I paid for does not work/wrong code, after battery went flat, need it sorted before going on France Spain driving hols,
or I will have no sounds :-[.
This means I will have to make pleasant conversation with wife and two daughters for 14 days, so **PLEASE HELP URGENT**.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Radio Code
« on: 20 July 2008, 11:41:49 »
Thanks Dave - it's a CCR 2006.
Just a thought - when Vx had the car recently to fit the new alarm power sounder, would they have had to disconnect the battery?
If they did, they must have got a radio code somehow, cos the radio has been fine till I let the battery go flat 2 days ago. Then if so maybe I DO have the correct code, but I've done it wrong on three attempts, maybe by not holding AS button in long enough. I know I put the correct digits in, but it did not beep. :-/

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Radio Code
« on: 19 July 2008, 18:28:13 »
Hi people, 1st post, scuse if I ramble.
After battery went flat, display said SAFE, no radio. Recently had a new power sounder from Vauxhall, they had to order me a new CAR PASS for codes to do the work, cos when I bought it the seller had no codes, and no user manual. The car pass has a radio code, key code, immob code etc etc. After some guesswork I held AS button and powered up radio, got 10---- and entered code from the new Vauxhall car pass. I failed to press AS again to set, so tried again, pressing AS after code but still no good, now I'm down to 7 SAFE, and it will not come up with 7----, no matter how long I hold AS button. Should I stop messing or persevere? Is there a chance that the radio code on the car pass is wrong? And if I disconnect/reconnect the battery will I then get 7---- ? HELP.     very annoyed. >:(
