You shouldnt use any of the original Bose speakers with your new head unit as they are rated at 2 ohm, your head unit will expect an impedence of 4 ohm speakers IIRC.

Might be worth checking the forum for a more experienced view  :y

As i have recently changed my suspenders too i have been struggling to find a local specialist to re-align the fronts, so with the link above i found these guys in Chester:

QR Sport
Canal Side Buisness Park,
Tatten Hall,
Chester,
CH3 9BD
Tel: 01829 771165

Ask for a guy called "Darren" and explain that your a member on the OOF and he will discount the normal £80+VAT by 10% i also asked about me supplying the recomended replacment stretch bolts for the hub to strut and was advised they would change them at no extra charge.

If anyone takes up his offer please post your findings here ?

no, its not held in, i can take the key in and out...just cant turn it when its inserted.

Sounds like the barrel has colapsed, you can remove the barrel if the key goes in, i will check in the manual about it for you in the morning there is a section on removing the barrel and steering lock assy.

i think bob means the key is jammed in and the steering lock is active, if its an auto then there is a solenoid that locks the key into the ignition.

Our MV6 auto locks the key in the ignition occasionaly (but still able to turn it) if Park isnt selected 100%, we usually just make sure neutral is selected then the handbrake, then park and the key releases. we do live on an incline and i'm a bugger for just using park on auto boxes  :-/

Had a similar thing happen on my Carlton GSI (manual) years ago and i had to replace the whole steering lock assembly IIRC

Hi, i wonder if anyone can help, my omega 2.5 estate N reg, the steering lock has engaged and you cant turn the key to unlock it...tried all the usual tricks like wd40 etc but to no avail...the AA man couldnt do anything either, however due to time restraints i had to get it towed home instead of to a garage...

now ive got a car on my drive i cant take anywhere as the steering lock is in...how do i get it out so i can get it to a garage? or replace the lock?

Is your miggy an auto?

The low brake pad warning cable fits into the centre of a spring fixed to the brake pad, its a simple push fit arrangement.

Google is your friend:

"There's sulfur in fuel additives; your engine isn't burning it completely and your catalytic converter is storing it and then releasing it as hydrogen sulfide when you add load to the engine and force more air through."

and:

"Dealers will always blame cheap gas rather than the catalytic converter. If you do a lot of short hop driving, you may need to blow out that cat with an Italian tuneup. First, make sure your air filter is in good condition, or replace it, it's cheap. Then tank up with premium unleaded and get out on the superhighway or other open road where you can drive at sustained high speed to heat up the platinum catalyst and burn out the gunk."

Most cats whiff a bit after a "spirited" drive, i wouldnt worry too much  :y you can always ask your local MOT station to check cat functionality ;)
