right, i've seen many with 16 and 17 wheels and i'm considering either of them ( probably the 16 cheaper wheels and tires )

but what are the tire sizes for both 16 and 17?

it now has the 15 wheels that require caps and 205/65 tires. is that the standard? i would have checked this my self but al the stickers on the car are not there any more

Omega General Help / need to change battery and tires+wheels

Hey every one,

Right now my new owned car needs a bettery changed cause every time i want to start it, i have to jump the car up.

my question is: which type of battery suits a 2001 3.0 V6 omega?

some guy told me a should get an 80 battery ( not sure what that means but it sure is expensive )

if any one can help me with which battery number i should be getting, i'd really appreciate it.

one more thing, i'd liek to know if any of u still has teh car manual and tell me what are the standard tire sizes and on which wheels?

cheerioes

Omega General Help / Re: Omega 3.0 Overheating
« on: 21 August 2008, 15:54:12 »
i'm real sorry every one.

today i discovered the engine was damaged from the lower part meaning it bumped into something like a rock or so. and its leaking oil slowly when its standing but leaking too much when AC is on or u press the throttle paddle. talked to the cars' owner and he agreed to take it back

i really wanted this car bad. but damn right it costs too much to fix. front breaks were worn out resulting the the front left disk damaged and un-usable. the original breaks cost like 600 saudi riyals ( about 100 euro ) and each new disk costs about 1200 riyals ( about 200 euro ) meaning just to fix front breaks, i'd have to pay 3000 riyals ( about 500 euro )

compared for the deal i almost got on the car, this guy was selling it for 7000 riyals ( about 1100 euro ) and really, i'm not willing to pay the same amount to fix it

sorry every one, thanks for all tehhelp you provided. i've known more about cars since i came here and i will never forget what i learned. i wont be disappearing. i'll come visit every now and then.

cheers  :y

Alright, i am now the official owner of teh car

kind of embarrassed to show the pictures of it since it needs loads of hand work ( inside cleaning, malfunctioning buttons, no alloy wheels, dried out tires etc )

as far as i've driven teh car, it doesnt seem to go above 95 what ever i'm doing.

but i cant really say anything about that til i get the A/C working ( can u believe its 48 C outside and no AC?!  :-? )

i'll post any updates i find.

any one has any idea about the A/C? its just blowing hot air like an oven. previous owner told me i need to change the battery to make that work properly and i'm like " huh?! " dont think that has to do with any thing related to the A/C does it?

Omega General Help / Omega 3.0 Overheating

Hello every one.

Right here in Saudi arabia, Omega goes under Opel's branding. apparently, GM adopted alot of Vaxhull's development. You see Opel vectra, Opel Omega, Opel astra etc.

the GM dealer here is pritty bad specially with the Opel section. once you come in with your car, its about 500 US$ average. most of the time, nothing solved. Spare parts are high and basically the car is considered a curse if you own it, Specially that sometimes the weather reaches 54C over here.

sorry for teh long introduction. right now, i know an Omega owner friend of mine that got him self another car and is willing to sell his Omega. the car is a 2001 Opel Omega 3.0 V6 and he offered it to me really cheap. Then he warned me that the car has been having overheating problems since it passed its warranty period and some times, the heat meter tops red line. I would love to have this car if i could find a solution for the over heating issue. otherwise, i'm a student at college and its not really worth it.

before i posted here, i've searched and read 2 posts about the same issue but for different engines. the post that mentioned the eprson who locked his radio  ;D and the other that pointed out the fuse location (neat picture it helps!)

what i need to ask right now is:- " what am i looking for? what am i checking? is there a list of things i should look for? priority? "

and thanks. i really love the way you people have provided information to owners about this issue. and it assured me that i'm in the right place!

Ed :P

Lizzie, what is an auxillary cooling system? any link in the forums?

HNO3GOH, i dont yet own an omega. but pritty soon i'm aiming for a 2001 3.0. exactly why i joined to see if i can solve its problem. the friend selling it to me giving me a chance to try and solve it without buying it. dont want it stuck in my throut

Amigo, it varries. most the time its humid but this is the desert next to the arabian gulf and u cant really tell. one day its dry as u can think of, and another is too humid to breath.

Hello every one. My name is Edmund and i live in Saudi arabia.

I joined here because i am really interested into owning an Omega. its been a dream and teh car is just breath taking no matter how old.

Over here, we got a very bad dealer and pretty high prices on parts. Also its been known that the Omega has too much overheating problems and i blame that on the weather (sometimes reaches 54C)

any how, hope i can read and discuss alot with you all.
