hi
the eml light comes on after a couple of minutes then stays on, but drives fine with it on, drives rough when its not on.
exhaust does seem loud but we checked it on the ramp at work last week and it wasnt blowing anywhere. the cat seemed really noisy, like raspy/tinny noise. kinda gets louder when revved .it is new though, could it be knackered ? should it not make a noise, could this be my prob if its broken up inside ?

hi
it has all the symptoms of dirty iacv but i cleaned this. how come it drives ok once eml light comes on? dosent want to stall then ? dosent hold back? would the 02 sensor give these probs ?
is it worth replacing the iacv ? suppose it would be a good place to start. how much are they and from where is best to buy ?
thanks

Omega General Help / rough idle code 0130
« on: 28 September 2008, 17:02:44 »
hi guys
car starts fine from cold and warm.
when choke comes off the car runs rough is hunting all over trying to idle, sometimes seems to hold back as if missing. have recentley done HG, cleaned sump, pickup pipe, all breathers, jet in small breather pipe, iacv, throttle body.
then when the EML light comes on it seems to drive ok, idles still lumpy but no hesitation or missing. has had a new cat and front pipe.
please help i need this car to be reliable for work.
thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Got to clean my Breather pipes
« on: 17 September 2008, 18:53:10 »
did you clean the metal pipe that runs down the side of the block ? passenger side rear as you look at the lump. mine was solid. also worth taking your sump off and cleaning the pick up pipe. again mine was solid, soaked it in thinners over night and it came up like new.

Hmmm....thats bad luck, think your falling foul of a previous owner on this one (judging by the internals)

hi chris
yip its lost more water :-/, cant see any water leaks again, HBV is still dry, no drips or water under the car so its gotta be the HG, took oil cap off while it was running and the oil in the head looked milky again, dipped the oil and it was clean in the sump. i dont fooking no....its battering my head. i either get rid or do HG. is there a how to for the 2.0 HG you know of mate ?
cheers

put everything back together, lotsa oil blowing up to the head now ive cleaned all the breathers and pickup pipe. engine is quiet again :)
went for a drive after re checking levels. no overheating, car drove great but.... EML light is on, dosent seem to be affecting anything. do i need to do a paperclip test ?
