yeah i have the stereo out with dash already, i am putting in a different aerial connector in the back which will not hold into the rear panel of the cage, therefore i need to put the stereo into the cage and have access to the back of the stereo also to push the connector in!, if i do this with the centre dash with stereo in the dash i then cannot screw the dash back in to secure it (hope that makes sense!!)

could not get the stereo cage out from the dash piece, have undone the screw at the back but no luck getting the unit out, any more ideas?

Is there a way to get to the back of the stereo behind the cage without taking the stereo and centre dash out, on a facelift Omega?!

Ie if you take the centre air vents out or anything can you get down the back??

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCR2006 - Deactivating code protection

I have a CCR 2006 stereo, I do have the code but due to battery/alternator probs i have to keep disconnecting the power, I have the code but it is a pain to have to keep entering it everytime i use the car, i have seen in the manual there is a way to disable the code yet the manual doesnt seem to make sense!!

What is the way to do this? thanks

I own a 2.6 V6 (2002) model, need to get a replacement alternator, are the alternators the same from all the V6 Omega or do they differ?? ie 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 and 3.2?? Which ones will work, doesnt seem to be a part number on mine but its a bosch 120 amp one if that helps.

If there are diferent types which one is the best to try and get hold of.

I have done the volt checks and seems the alternator is the culpret. Doesnt seem to be charging at all anymore.

How easy are they to replace on a v6 engine, could not see a how2 guide on site?

Bit of a puzzling one this, a few months back i had a problem and left lights on on omega (2002 2.6 V6 Elite), the battery then went flat, i boosted it and started but never seemed to charge again as i had to keep boosting it, i then replaced the battery with a charged one from an old motor which has been fine for about 3 months now.

All of a sudden night before last it wouldnt start again so i boosted again, now this battery was doing the same and had to keep boosting, on the way home with just engine running and headlights on the battery was slowly dieing and just got me home as the headlights went off about 10 houses away from home. the next morning i took the battery off car and removed the power sounder. charged battery for 2hrs on charger and put battery back on car.

Started ok (wihtout booster) but since then the battery light has been on on the dashboard (this has never been on before), drove to my gf's (daylight - no headlights just engine) (about 10 min drive) and car dash dimming again and eventually cut out half way there, boosted which got me started and another 1 minute driving till it went again and then boosted again which got enough to roll downhill to the gf's.

I have since left the battery on charge and battery now fully charged, back on car and started and drove back fine only thing is battery light still on.

Any ideas? does the battery light only come on when not charging or will this come on if notices the battery has been left off for a while or does this happen when the power sounder has been removed?

Any ideas?

Omega General Help / V6 Misfire EML

Hiya, I was driving home earlier and the engine management flashed a few times then stayed on, i switched off then it was clear, when doing the flash test i have:

P0300 Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected

Since then I have driven locally a bit and the light only comes on and flashes when I really drive it hard, it is fine if I take it steady.

Searching seems this could be linked to a few things namely air leak, oil prob or dis packs/spark plugs etc?

Does this sound about right and which locations are the cylinders on the V6 engine, assuming as I have cylinders 3,4 and 5 that these are on both sides of the engine or am I incorrect?

Omega General Help / FAULT CODES, V6

Done the test on my car earlier (2.6 V6 2002), got two codes come up, what does this mean in simple terms?! Have not had the light come on when drving just thought I would see if any faults come up or not, thanks

Hiya Folks

Recently inherited an Omega Elite 2.6 V6 (2002) so thought id better join up!!

Been into my Vauxhall's for a few years now (had a Vx Cavalier, 2 Astra GTE 16v's and more recently a Astra GTE Cabby), im well impressed with the car so far,will try and post some pics up when I can. Car is completely standard and is a saloon model in a silvery Grey (paint colour is moon something?!?!) with 17s.

Im based down in Torbay in Devon, anyone else from down that neck of the woods??
