Andy B, 4 bolts? is that to secure the dis pack? or hold the engine in place ;D. I was actually thinking of re-locating it somewhere else if the leads would reach. I have a large box of plasters on standby, my mate don't wanna know and my brother in law (also a mechanic) aint interested so i know what i am letting myself in for :o

Hi All, after a long working week and most of last weekend out with the omega thought i would give you all an update on my problem. Dismantled everything to change cam cover gaskets, job done, far more work involved than working on my cossie, but its done now. Changed leads and plugs, still not firing on two cylinders, a mate of a mate put his diag on it and he is 99.9% sure its the coil pack :(. I am all geared up to do it tomorrow morning. Can anyone offer any help or advice changing it. i know its a nightmare of a job getting to it, any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

Think the best thing for me to do would be to wait till sat when not working and get under the bonnet and have a good clean up. Are the breathers easily accessible?

Sorry not making it very clear am i?. I am only assuming its running on 5 and number 1 not firing as that is the only lead i could pull off in the time i had. It made no difference with the lead on or off to the running of the engine. Mileage is 113k if that helps, plugs are ngk twin electrode.

thnx for rapid response, got a new plug and tried that, the plug end of the lead looks ok, can't see where other end of plug lead goes to or even how to get to it. There was a bit of oil in number 1 plug well Though (the one thats not firing). How do i get the leads of to check/clean them.

Omega General Help / 2.5 v6 ignition leads
« on: 11 September 2008, 20:38:41 »
Hi All, I am a newbie to this site, and hoping someone can help or at least give me a few pointers. I have an omega reflection ('98) 2.5 v6, which has all of a sudden started running on 5 cylinders. I took out the plug(number 1) an changed it with another one but still the same which indicates not a plug problem. I am thinking of changing the leads but didn't want to go down the, change everything until it 's cured road. Is there anything else it is most likely to be?, how easy is it to change the leads?, i looked at them and cannot see where they go or how to access them.
          Thanking you in advance
                                   Regards  Fozzy
