I wonder if this car used to have a poorly installed LPG system that was subsequently equally badly uninstall 

no LPG system installed here, just a clasic symptom of "previous owner syndrome"

Probably not any benefit in going away from the wasted spark setup.

Why doesn't the ECU and you get along?  Just interested, and certainly not knocking the idea of replacing it, but it's quite a large task with lots of learning needed.

so with me havin a z22xe but a ecu from a y22xe theres some small details in the ecu that aint how it shuld be so i get a good old stadard gm limp mode (doesnt limit power but limits rpm from 6.5k down to 4.5k, its als what causes my gearbox to not function as it shuld the ecu i have is a siemens simtec 71, but its noted as 5wk9 170(BJ, i need the one noted as 5wk9 158(DG) and that little change is in relation to how it reads, basicaly every sensor, mainly cam and crank sensor after my understanding, so it runs rich, limits rpm, is more... lazy... than it shuld be

Soo i have a 02 omega caravan, with a small handfull of problems, amongst those an ecu that dont agree with me, (y22xe ecu not z22xe) and with that im thinking of running a standalone ecu, and one of theoughts i had was changing from wasted spark system to a cop system im curious if somone has done it before and whats needed to make that work, potentialy what parts i shuld get for that

Assuming fluid level is correct, at that stage in the UK, we'd replace the box - but spare parts from breakers are cheap here.

If you read the codes in the transmission, are you seeing a P0730 Incorrect Ratio?

I just checked this yesterday, and not p0730 but p0780 and a sensor issue, so im looking at getting a new sensor to fix it
Hopfully that's all i need to do

Yea the bmw gearbox im aware of, but im also aware if that its alot more popular with bmws than opel omegas, theres posebly 4-5 omegas in the area, and 2 thats road legal, maby 3 if lucky, i forgot about that saabs are fwd, may posebly have gotten it confused in the moment. But i did look for a 4L30-E AR35 transmission and did find one for an mk3 isuzu trooper, while it is 4wd it might be possible to rebuild, though im not sure, and atm im not spending this monts rent money on a transmition, i may be bad with money but i try to limmit myself

Ill see if i can get my hands on an ar3535, but i cant garantee it, unless i import it or buy of sites like ebay, and yes i had been driving with the car for about 30-45 minutes trying to see if the gearbox behaved diffrently when warm, while there wasnt much change there was some, it actualy went abive 80 for once, while it was only to about 85-90 its a small bit of improvment since it only wanted to go up to about 65-70 when cold, but i still have the suspicion of a bad torque converter il lay it to the side for now, did find out that i can pull the gearbox from a saab 9-3 or an bmw e34/36, though i need to work  with the electrical parts like ecu and tcu

So i did just check the gearbox for any identification, there is a sticker on the top but the ink is gone, there are alot of numbers and letters around the gearbox, but above the shift mechanism i found a plate that said its an ar25 gearbox, posebly an mar25, il look deeper into it but im unsure, i did also check the fluid level, it was too much, ab 1-1.5L too much, so that explains why it was leaking from the shift mechanism, though it didnt help, there is a lamp in the dash that more or less says that gear 2 is not avalible, wich is not entirely true, the main issue is that it dont wanna change gears when it shuld, had my suspicion with it being a 5L40-e with it being a dual pan, but didnt seem right, imma try and get a photo of the plate if not imma just note the numbers, but imma see if i can find a new or used one

So i checked with a cuppe mates if mine, including an opel mechanic, and most likely its the torque converter, and posebly a burned cluch pack or 3 so eighter its swapping the gearbox and the torque converter, or its rebuilding the one i have, wich is easier said than done

i dont have a dedicated reader, but i checked with a reader from Würth, and it didnt read any fault codes, imma see on my closest auto shop that spesialize in opels and see what they have and if they can check for fault codes, but thats a 4h drive, about 250-300 ish km, so its not somthing i do any day, and espesialy not in the condition the car is in at the moment, its not in bad condition just atm need a anti roll bar link, and a new set of tyres

edit: i checked for a gearbox that i can get my hands on, theres one for sale thats relativly close, its in a junkyard, but its also about a 5h drive, around 350-400km, but i honestly think id rather rebuild the transmition than buy a new one, yes its more difficult but a valuble lesson

So i have an odd issue with the omega im tryna fix atm, i. Suspectic the torque converter have ruined the cluch packs . but id love some help and if somone has had this issue before.
So all gears work fine, but when i press the throtle to gain more speed when im alreaddy in about 60-80kmh it drops a gear or two, but doesnt gain speed, give alot of noice but no power to the wheel, so i suspect cluch pack 2-4
Its a 2002 opel omega with a 2.2L i4 petrol and the gm 4L30-E 4 speed auto transmission, i kinda wanna avoid swapping the transmition, but at the same time wuld love if it wasnt the cluch pack, though i doubt il be that lucky
However if its the cluch packs there will be a complete gearbox rebuild
