Omega General Help / Rear Springs Advice
« on: 27 October 2008, 14:37:17 »
About 18 months ago i changed the rear springs on my 2.6 CDX as they have both snapped.

I bought cheaper ones off of ebay and fitted these.

They seem to have gone soft rather quickly and the car although okay now sits a lot lower at the back than it used to.

Any advice on if its worth getting new srpings again and paying for the Vauxhall ones - Or can anyone recommend a decent replacement.

Oh dear - im glad nobody told my local garage that as its just passed the MOT.

I will fix it if i decide to hang on to the car.

I do love it and hopefully it will go forever.
Ive just stuck a post on the newcomer section with a few questions so give me your thoughts if you have a minute.

I have a 2001 2.6CDX and the Haines is for the older model.

I suppose its probably all the same underneath.

Did the older model have the same headlight system.

Omega General Help / Headlight Sensors on suspension wiring diagram
« on: 22 September 2008, 16:38:13 »
Hi all

Does anyone know where i can get the wiring diagram that shows the sensors on the front and rear suspension that are used to detect how the car is sitting and used to level the headlights.

One of mine is faulty and id like to know how its electrically connected to see if there is anyway i can bypass it.

I do have the Vauxhall CD but it seem pretty useless.

Ive got a copy of the Tech CD i bought on ebay.

Does this have the correct software on it. Its meant to be the genuine Vauxhall one.

Also what sort of cable do i need between laptop and car plug.

Just signed up to this forum today as i thought it might be a good way to save re-inventing the wheel.

Ive got a 2001 2.6 CDX Auto that i bought direct from Vauxhall. It was 9 months old and had 7,000 mile son the clock.

Now it just turned 141,000  - Still going storng but starting to suffer a few problems.

The headlight level sensors have stopped working and it also looks like it suffering front the rocker gaskets / breather issue.

Up until recently it has always ben serviced by a main dealer and its had the CAM belt and tensioner changed 3 times now. But to try to sae money ive decided to do most things where possible myself.
Im a reasonable spanner head and have most of the basic tools.

A few questions below would be nice to hear all you opinions on.
1. How many miles are these engines/gearboxes good for.
2. How does the Tech 2 software work and how do you connect it up.
