Just replaced my bypass valve - coolant disapearing but not at a steady rate; it was ok for a while but would dump it without any trace under the car so I suppose it evaporated quickly.  The valve looked fine with no crud build up to show it was leaking, but when I pressurised the system (low pressure air line on a modified tank cap) it peed out!

When putting it all back, I came across a pipe with nowhere to connect to.  Thank god for the forum!  The third FAQ let me know it is a breather for the auto box............

Have you checked the plug wells?  My last Omega cooked the plug leads when the cam cover leaked and my present one did the same thing to the coil pack.  Symptoms were low rev misfire.

Of course, the leaking cover was on the hard-to-get-at bank! (passenger side)

Thanks for the info - with one less bit to adjust and a lot less plumbing to remove first (2.5 was a bugger)  it's getting too easy! I suspect there will be something else to bite me in the proverbial further down the line.....

Omega General Help / 2.6 V6 cambelt timing.

Just done the cambelt on my 2.6 V6, but unlike the last one I did on a 2.5, the lower adjuster is now fixed. Any ideas how to get the timing on cams 3 & 4 correct?  I assume the upper adjuster still does 1 & 2.

Any idea when V6 Cambelt DVD will be available again?  Doing it next week on 2.6 - last time was on '98 2.5 but I think it should be the same.
