Omega General Help / Boot lock mechanism
« on: 21 April 2011, 12:55:10 »
The boot on my Omega Saloon will not close.  I have tried manually pushing the black plastic (nylon?) catch to the locked position but it just springs back to the release position.  Is this fixable or do I need a new lock?

@ The Boy:

I am disappointed.  All other replies were helpful.

Omega General Help / Omegamechanic phone number?
« on: 30 October 2008, 14:55:26 »
I have been recommended to use omegamechanic.co.uk (JamesV6Elite) to sort out my auto g/box problem.  Does anyone have his phone number?  My email has gone unanswered (resent just now) but a phone chat is preferable.  His 'handle' on this forum is JamesV6CDX.

My thanks to Albatross for the recommendation.

I bought my Omega as a stop-gap heapo-cheapo comfortable car 43 months ago for £1100.  The logic was that if it lasted a year, I was quids in.  But I fell in love with it, and kept it on.

I still love it, and still use it.  OK, I have spent on some essential repairs and tyres but all-in-all this armchair on wheels has cost me about £1 per day to own.

I have an issue with the auto box (it's a 2.5 TD GLS) and I am convinced that the problem is simply low fluid level.

I am here to download advice and then show my local garage how to fix the problem as I do not have the kit to DIY it myself, and they say they do not know how.

I know that there is a drain/top up plug on the gearbox itself through reading this forum.  Does anyone have a photo of what it looks like from underneath the car?  PLEASE!?
