thanks all...

yeah thats a good idea, i am based near stansted airport.

I totally agree with the attitude about mechanic with that will do, although to be fair to the mechanics its normally down to the boss's giving them rubbish hours and they have to rush the car through to make bonus, otherwise the basic wage just isnt enough.

Hence i have started my own place, as i disagree with this attitude. job will take as long as it take for it to do be done right in my oppinion.

Hi all

I am an ex vauxhall mechanic, but shock horror in the 5 years I was there I never had to do a v6 belt!!!

I now have my own place and a friend wants a belt doing on his saab v6 3.0l, now I am not worried about the job but i noticed on a google search many of you guys seem to attack it yourself, so its always well worth asking those who have done it.

Does any one have locking tools gathering dust they fancey selling after a job? or does anyone hire them out/loan them?

Any things to lookout for?

Cheers all, my friend seems to be struggling to find places to take the jobs on, is there a lack of garages willing to take the job on?

All the best

Paul
