« on: 19 November 2009, 18:13:39 »
Thanks everyone for your time and suggestions,I have Pm'd Kevin and it looks like a new fob,may go to Vx for a price guess it won't be cheap but I hate it when things don't work especially on my precious mig (I know I'm sad) but its got to be right.
If anyone has any idea of the possible cost then please let me know it will save me palpetations when I get to the Vx dealers.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Key Fob

Hi all,
I am in need of some help if possible, I have the three button key fob for my 2000 omega 2.2 CD, the problem is the circuit board or IC has gone completely, just paid out for a new key body, battery and micro switches but to no avail.
Got everything fitted on the board LED flashes but can't sync it to the car so it does nothing
can anyone recommend where to get the replacement board without paying main dealer prices any help would be really appreciated.

Omega General Help / Trim Height
« on: 01 February 2010, 12:45:52 »
Hi ya all,
i had a call this morning from one of the guys at wheels in motion about the rear tyre wear problems i am having, he indicated that the problem is being caused by ride height, the car hasn't been lowered at all but he suggested asking if anyone on here could tell me the trim height thats the measurement from the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch lip, its the 2.2 CD year 2000 saloon.

any dimensions available would be a great help as i could tell if its a coil spring problem manifesting itself in the tyre angle on the road.

Cheers
Neil.

I would have told him but he had a point lol, how much on average does the four wheel alignment cost to get done, hopefully its gotta be cheaper than keep replacing tyres also it may improve the way she drives.

Omega General Help / Tyre damage
« on: 29 January 2010, 19:16:43 »
Evening everyone,
I am after a bit of advise, on Monday I replaced the two back tyres on my Mig, this was due to excessive wear on the inside edge of both tyres, this was a humiliating experience because unknown to me the tyres were in a shocking state on the inside edges with one having a split between the side wall and the tread pattern along with a gum boil of a bulge in the edge, the tyre fitter went mad, the rest of the tread on the tyre was in excellent condition hence my ignorance as visual checks through the wheel arch did not highlight the damage. so my question is what is causing the serious wear issues, I am being pointed in the direction of camber angle adjustment can anyone confirm if this is likely to be the problem.

Cheers in advance
Neil.

Omega General Help / Coolant Level
« on: 27 April 2009, 08:22:22 »
Hi all,
Dunno if anyone can help, on Saturday morning I had a Coolant Level warning appear on my display, with the CHECK indication illuminated, I have checked the level and although slightly down I topped it up, the warning indication and check alert are still present, any ideas if there is a reset required or is there another hidden problem i need to watch out for.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Neil. :)

I have found that the car always seemed sluggish on the acceleration side and I appreciate that they are heavy cars and mines only a 2.2ltr so I was chatting to  a friend who runs his own car maintenance business he said to me you should try changing to super unleaded because he claimed it burns better and cleaner so gives a stronger and better power output,as I was unsure because in my handbook it states 95 RON which is normal unleaded, I sort of cast my mind back to when unleaded first hit the pumps and only newer cars could use it and at the time I had a little metro with an A Series engine which ran on 4 star I remember these had to have a head change to accomodate unleaded because of valve damage thats basically why i  was looking for a general concensus as to what other people use.

theres no problem, I was told it gives smoother running and more even power delivery I don't know if thats true or just myth thats why i thought i would ask the top guys for an opinion.
Thanks for your replies.
