I have just done the biggest and the most stupidest thing in the world!

I was un-doing the positive nut on the battery and slipped the spanner onto the ECU and it sparked quite a bit as i tried to get it off!

Now the car will turn over but won't start

Any suggestions would be most appreicated please as to what i need to possibly replace

I've just been out fixing the rear center Air vents and stumbled two separate green and black electrical 5 pin female connecters with wires attached either side of the ciggy lighter on the back of the blanking panel.....

They are just sat there doing nothing and i wondered if anybody knows of their operational duties?

ie on different spec migs
(i have the 2000 2.0cd)

thanks for all the advice, i only come across the problem when i found that the rocker gasket was leaking oil down onto the spark plugs, so i spent last saturday cleaning all that up and the throttle body and the crankcase breather filter

Also noticed that one of the ht leads was coroded to so a mixture of a few things that was making the car feel grumpy i think

But all in good hands this weekend (just don't tell the Mrs lol)

Thanks for the autobahnstormers idea well worth a look at  ;D
