would all the wiring stuff just plug in to each other ?? Thanks alot man .  if i can drop the saab v6 in their i can save myself alot of money and time . Plus i have somebody that wants to buy the car and has cash waiting .

I doubt very much if your wiring is just going to plug in. Your car has 6 cylinders, the Saab has 2 missing ......  ;D ;) ;)

he was talking about the saab 2.5 v6 andy :P

I thought those saab v6 motors were 3.0 liter ?

yes afaik the saab engines bolt straight on.
if it's the 2.0 then i think it's a taller engine than the 2.3 though (incase your going for a 4 pot engine)
and what do you mean afaik ?? did you me to say I think lol just wondering

Yep, can think of a few suppliers who will ship state side.

I notice also that they dish the piston crowns to lower the compression ratio on the caterra power plant

So it needs a set of pistons too

Perhaps it is worth shipping over a mini facelift X30XE - they are able to be fitted with the DBW kit

what is a x30xe and how much are they ? when I searched for the x30xe i came across a motor called a C30SE . But when I search nothing comes up . Can anybody tell me more about the C30SE or give me a few links to some info on them . This place is the best ! I plan on keeping the catera since the underbody is pretty damn clean almost no rust . Never been in an aciident and the inside is REALLY clean . Thanks alot guys for all the help and info .

anything CAN be done, question is should you, when you can probably get another motor for less grief/cash. Not worth it imho.

I figured I could replace the pistons rings and the one or two damaged pistons and a few other things and the botom end would be alright . The heads were pulled off and I plan on rebuilding them . I cant find a catera motor near my home in buffalo new york so rebuilding it would be worth it for me . I only work on it in my spare time so its no big deal . I cant wait for spring so I can ride my katana 750  :D 2000 gsxr 1000 is what im gonna buy in the summer when I sell my cadillac deville . What year gsxr do you have chris ?

I have always understood that providing there are no cracks, holes in the main block casting, and the head is free of warping, let alone holes or cracks, then the engine can be rebuilt. :y :y :y

It is only a question of how much it will cost and if the individual thinks it is worthwhile. ::) ::) ;)

Thats what I thought . Thanks .
