Thanks Entwood,
That was the first thing I unplugged when the problem first occurred. It worked for a short while but when I unplugged the Power Sounder I plugged the Bonnet Sensor back in. Was this a mistake then?

It was the squarish black thing, and it looked like the one in the photo that someone had kindly posted on the site. So I was fairly confident that I had got the right component. Althought the plug was on the side of the black thing and not underneath like the one in the photo.

Hi folks,

The alarm on my 2.6 CDX started going off for no apparent reason a few weeks ago. But thanks to you guys I was able to fix it by following your instructions and unplugging the Power Sounder (bit technical for me because I dont usually lift the bonnet on any car). Well it seemed to do the trick until tonight that is. I was watching the tele and the car alarm went off first time, that I know about, for 3 or 4 weeks. What have I unplugged !!

Hi Everyone,

Been driving 36 years but this is my 1st Vauxhall - 51 Plate 2.6 V6 CDX . Had it 6 weeks. Interior and  exterior in great nick. Love the ride and performance but already had a crank sensor replaced, the heated seat pack in and the Alarm has just started playing up but I see from the forum that these are common probs. Hope I get lucky from here on. Nice to meet you all.
