Omega General Help / Difference in pre-facelift/facelift model?
« on: 25 December 2008, 12:51:09 »
What are the differences between models. The lights and grill are, what about body panels, the tailgate in particular as I'm after a spoiler?

Been a Vauxhall fan for a while but this is my first Omega. Its a 2.5 V6 Cd auto in good nick showing 110k on clock but no where else, got it for £600 with no tax or mot but it sailed through. Love the drive but my wallet doesn't so a gas conversion will have to be first thing on my list!

I take it thats what you used before, I wouldn't have used a spray can because I would have thought that the heat in the engine bay would cause problems but obviously not  :)

I did the angel eyes myself, removed headlights then a combination of prising and cutting to remove the lense. Steel wool to rub off the crome then paint, bonded the angel eye to inside of light and ran wires under the main beam reflector out of sight. Tapped into sidelight wiring then removed original bulbs. Bit of a pain to do but happy enough with result, if you try it dont stick masking tape to any of the crome you don't want to remove as it strips it off when you take it back off!! And also don't shut your bonnet on your headlight trim!!

To clarify its not for sale at the moment, its got about 9months mot and 3 months tax, not immaculate but in decent condition inside and out. Don't know about cam belt, new fuel pump and 4 great tyres

Thinking about selling as i can't afford the running costs, whats a realistic price? 112,000 miles CD auto :-/

There are a couple kicking about round here, a cossie and red hatchback, guys had it since nearly new. I had a really interesting car in for mot last month though not a sierra, it was a mk2 capri with a cossie engine in it, guy had performance ford magazine on the seat and there it was in it, it was running about 300bhp, beautiful car.
