Omega General Help / Re: Cleaning Oil Off My 2.5 V6 Engine
« on: 09 January 2009, 15:10:39 »
i know its not leaking cam covers as they was done along with cleaning breathers out and also the oil leak is not coming from the top is lower down as the exhaust heatshield is not covered in oil

any other ideas? as i said imhoping the mechanics right but then again he might have just looked saw a slight leak and said there we go thank you very much as i did suggest to him it was the oil cooler pipe that runs from the filter up to the oil cooler just because of the amount of oil that it lost

After a major oil leak and the engine getting soaked in oil the garage has fixed leak he reckonms it was crank shaft sensor leaking.

Any way he hasnt cleaned the old oil off i hope its the old oil anyway and the engine is now smoking when it ges to temp cos its burning the oil

the oil is now pooled under the car have checked oil filter and thats tight so its not leaking from there.

have took it out for a drive about 10 miles once it got up to running temp the oil light flickered on whilst idling but once driving went off

Omega General Help / Engine Oil Leak 2.5 V6 CDX
« on: 09 January 2009, 15:23:11 »
Hi A week ago i had a major oil leak on a engine i had put into the car.
took it back to garage and have had it returned to me today.
The mechanic said it was the o ring on the crank sensor perished and he thinks oil filter wasnt sealed properly so redone that.

Now the leak was (or still is) seemed to be comong from back passenger side. first though cam covers but it aint as the exhaust heat sheild is bone dry and no oil residue so it had to be under or behind that.

now he hasnt cleaned the engine off so its still covered in oil and dripping oil so im not 100% sure leak is fixed as havent used the car properly just a mile and half back home not getting over 30mph.

after putting on about cleaning the engine someone has said balls is it that no im scared to use th motor now incase im being told porkie pies.

can anyone shed any light on this

im going to clean engine off tomorrow with some gunk and hope he has fixed the leak otherwise we gonna have a fall out me thinks >:(

any suggestions appreciated
