To be fair that cars been up on ebay for ages and sold 3 times to my knowledge, which goes to suggest it is not as described.......

It was owned by an American guy but an English businessman has bought the name etc and is setting it up from scratch, really seems to know what he is doing too, hence I have left Triumph to go there, keep an eye open for them in the future!

thanks for the help with the car!

As a number 95 degrees isnt that bad, I am a designer at Triumph and we regularly see 115 degrees up to 125 on climatic testing, it was just the fact the gauge moves around a lot that bothered me and 80 degrees seemed low!

seems to be common though!

Hi there!

I have just bought a 2000MY 3.0V6 Elite (or is it an MV6?!).

The temperature gauge sits around 80 degrees in normal driving, which seems quite low to me, and when sat in traffic it goes up to 90-95 degrees, never really gets hot and gets up to the 80 degrees pretty quick, the heaters blow hot air all the time and pretty quickly after a cold start up.

I have had LOTS of cars in my time but the temp gauge on this seems to move around quite a lot compared with other cars, is this normal for these cars or should I replace the thermostat? I know its a bit of a pain and but dont mind doing it, it just doesnt seem obvious that its gone at the moment.

Any help/opinions would be gratefully recieved!

Thanks

Simon
