Omega General Help / Re: Differential help

HI Iain

I am in New Zealand. Lovely little part of the world.
The diff isn't making too much noise at the mo, so its not too bad. It does shudder the back of the car a bit as well, probably from the tire on the inside not turning fully (Because the LSD won't be working properly) This isn't a bad problem though, I just don't want to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere and the diff decides its had enough. You don't know what kind of commodore by chance, or where I could find out? There are a million commodores over here, so it would be cheap. Unfortunately the Holden dealer here doesn't understand what I mean by finding a holden diff to go on an Opel Omega...

Thanks again

Kind Regards
Mark

Omega General Help / Differential help
« on: 11 March 2009, 20:59:51 »
Hi there

Me again from way down the bottom of the world...
The differential is making a whining sound on my car when accelerating from a stop and turning at the same time. The Haynes guide says that this is the time to be having a good look at it as something is wrong.
Unfortunately where I live the parts for Opel/Vauxhaul are tremendously expensive. Does anyone know if there is a model of Holden (Which are common as flies over here) that has the same/similar diff that I could fit to my 1995 Opel Omega 2.5ltr CD? Thanks for you help everyone, and hope your Omega experiences are as great as mine!

Kind Regards
Mark

Omega General Help / CrackCase Breathers

Hello everyone

I am pretty new to all this, so I was wondering if I could ask for some help. If anyone has a photo lying around of what the crankcase breathers look like, and where they are situated in the car, I would be very much obliged. I am by no means a mechanic, and I know that this is probably a pretty novice thing to be asking...
Anywho, thanks for your time :)

Kind Regards
Mark
