:)LOL, made the same mistake many moons ago when I first got my Mig........ only wish I had known about this Forum, took me ages to realise what I had done............... Rob
Yep mine started like that!! ok for months, than bad then ok again, now its bad all the time, I will just stick a CD in now until I get around to have a looksee!!
I was once told by a Vx Mech, that this was a known problem by Vx and it was something to do with a device in the boot area!!!!! now I really can't say much more than that, if its true or not and what the device is either!!!!!! :-? :-? :-/
So whats going on then??? as soon as you turn the Heated Rear windows on the reception on FM goes!!!!! anyone got this problem and is there a fix??? thanks :-? :-? Rob
Were due at 80k!!!!! general concenious is it needs to be changed at 40k, 4 years!!!! due to the tensioners breaking, just had mine done at 61k as advised on here!
Also, the Auto box takes a little longer to change up when cold, something to do with warming the CAT up, what I do to stop this is press the ICE button (Next to the gear selector) for a short while, keeps the revs nice and low when cold.
:)Yep thats the very same symptoms I had, failed to start, then would after about 30 mins, then would be ok for a week or so then failed to start again! Mine was the Crank Sensor as correctly told on here, cost me £142 at a garage cos it was during the winter I really couldn't be a@@ed to get under there myself, done an oil change last week and saw where it is and looks real easy to change tho!! Rob
As said before, the price is what someone is willing to pay, she does look like a stunner, i've had a 2.6 2001 for nearly 6 years and its done me proud, still looks good!! so if you like it and it fulfills your needs go for it! but just be aware that these cars lose money faster than the Northern Rock! Rob
Been looking in the Maint Guides to see if there is a how to in there................ thought there was, can anyone post me the link, I have never checked this, always thought it may have been done on the services, but as my Mech mate has now decided to live in Aus, its fallen to me to do the jobs..... Rob
:)Cheers Guys, as said I've had it done, great guys at Vauxtech and as all they do is Vauxhalls and are trained Vx (I think) jobs a good un!! car is running great.........touch wood!!!!
Well job is now done, so no more worries for another few years, came to £263 all in, changing tensioner etc and VAT, seem a good bunch of blokes at Vauxtech! Rob
