Newbie Welcome Area / Hi to all, another newbie to the site
« on: 16 February 2009, 22:57:52 »
Hello to all out there in omgea land, I have recently purchased myself a 2.5 v6 elite, e bay special again, why me!, they get me every time, but its an  absolute brilliant motor car, but its got its troubles, so I thought I would check out an owners site, so far this looks pretty good and most of all friendly. I hope someday to be able to help some of you guys out and in the meantime I will have a browse through the pages to see if I can find what I am looking for. God that sounds a little dodgy, Im only here for the car stuff honestly  ::)

Went and bought myself a 2.5 elite off of ebay,  Advert said only has a slight oil leak, won it, paid me money, drove off into the sunset...5 miles down the road smoke and steam everywhere, could not see a thing behind me, and anything behind me just could not see.   Well today I took off the heads and replaced what was left of the gaskets, cleaned out the breathers and pipes, stuck it all back together, leaving a fair bit of my skin attached to various parts of the car and hey presto a beaut of a drive, I no longer look like 007 driving down the road now with great trails of smoke and steam everywhere, and the underside of the car has the best part of 10 gallons of oil all over so it should not rust. Seriously though what a great engine to work on, everything is so basic, apart from one or two little areas where you need to be double jointed. Its the first omega I have owned and what a lot of car for the money, less than £350 inc repair, and its mot'ed till august. Just need a heater hose now as the matrix has been bypassed by the previous owner due to bypass valve giving up on him, balance the wheels, get the heated seats working and it should be all ok. Leather and gadgets dont ya just love it.
