Thanks for your response,

The car is a X 2.6 Saloon, We are not using the keyfob at all, what we have done is :

Lock the car using the key, open the car with the key, no alarm noise/indicators, open the car door and the alarm goes off, to silence the alarm we are shutting the door and from the outside repeatidly locking/unlocking the door, the alarm sound stops and but the indicators continue to flash, the stop after about 5 mins, the alarm sounds when opening the door and only stops when the engine is started.

Would I be correct in assuming the alarm is setting fine but not disarming hence the alarm going off ?

Thanks Andy.

Thanks for your reply,

We have tried the bonnet catch and the problem still persists, we can set the alarm and the intruder indicator flashes, we unlock the car and all is well, only when we open the door the alarm sounds.

The key fob doesnt work so we are unlocking using the key in the door, how does the alarm unset using the key ?

Can anyone help as my neighbours are getting very annoyed !!

Thanks Andy,

Omega General Help / battery light staying on
« on: 27 March 2010, 17:41:37 »
Hi my 2001 2.6 is playing up again, whilst driving my battery light came on i had no loss of power or anything suggesting the battery is running low.

I have had the battery and alternator tested both fine, ive also replaced the drive belt but the light stays on.  If i rev the engine high for a couple of seconds it goes off just to come back on again moments later,

Any help would be much appriciated
Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I have done the pedal trick and fault reading 10 3 10 10 which says its a random missfire, is there any common faults that anyone is aware of that could cause this?

Problem with 2.6.Omega Starts from cold and runs smoothly.
However if any more than very light acceleration is used before 1500 RPM it misfires and engine management light comes on and stays on.  If you stop the engine, when you restart all is ok and runs ok.  after about 1500 rpm all is ok at hire acceleration and throttle response is perfect. have checked for air leaks, all ok, it passed mot 150mls ago with same problem. Any help would be appreciated.
