Hi Guys

The unit is a silver one (it's a mini facelift), and the subscription is up to date.

The sound comes through loud and clear when I press the button, so Im guessing it's the aerial connection...  :-/

The wonders of "modern" technology!!!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Trafficmaster reception issues
« on: 31 October 2010, 08:53:47 »
Hi all,

My Trafficmaster unit has lost the ability to receive data when passing under the sensors, but will sometimes pick a signal up, albeit once in a blue moon!

I fitted a new radio last year, and used an ISO adapter, so Im guessing I've dislodged something. It has been working up until recently though.

Does anyone know if the signal is picked up via the radio aerial, or can I link it into the stubby aerial on the roof which used to serve a car phone?

I actually like my Trafficmaster, so if somebody could please let me know where the aerial connects, it would be much appreciated!  :)

Thanks for the replies guys, just to add to what you have kindly provided;

The battery is new in the remote and locks / deadlocks / unlocks from a good distance.

I'd re-synch'd the remote as per the handbook just in case.

It's all a bit of a mystery, but that's life!  :D When I get 5 minutes I'll disconnect the battery for an hour or so and reset everything again to see if that helps.

In the mean time, if anyone else has some other solutions that would be great!  :)

Hi All

I spoke too soon about the old girl behaving herself the other day.

I went to use the auto closure feature today, and it didnt work!!! I can still close the windows and sunroof by turning the key anti-clockwise in the drivers door lock, but not by holding the remote button down.

The battery went flat several months ago, and I had to reset the one touch feature on the windows, but never checked the remore closure.

I've reset the windows again today, but still no joy.

Any help is much appreciated!

Can anyone help solve mine and Darkus Lordus puzzle please................  :-/

Good to know Im not going mad!!!  :D Mine did exactly the same (mini facelift) with the fog light switches etc being illuminated, and they have gone dark too!

Short of taking the whole unit apart (which I dont particularly want to do coz I doubt it will go back together again!) Im stumped!

Hi Proz

Thanks for the heads up, but the problem persists even with the engine running  :-[

I've notice the headlight switch illumination is not working - I've taken the cluster out and replaced the bulb, but still no joy!

The filament on the bulbs looks fine, and have checked there is a circuit etc, but still no joy.

The contacts in the unit are clean, and the bulb contacts are set correctly so Im at a loss  :o

Has anyone else had this problem, and found a suitable solution please?

Just when I thought I'd got the old girl sorted!

All fitted!  :D Bit of a mare threading the Trafficmaster cable through, but got there in the end. It took an hour trying to juggle the cables into gaps so the head unit would fit, but well worth the hands getting ripped to shreds!

If anyone is interested, my local Aldi has head units that have built in "hands free" and bluetooth connectivity for £55........... Im not sure if other stores have them, but its a bargain for what it does. If you have a phone that supports A2DP, then you can stream audio via bluetooth too.

This link gives more info;

It sounds much better than my car 400, but that wasnt too hard!  ::)

Hi Dave - cheers for the info, have just ordered one from your site at a competitive price too I must say  ;D

Now all I have to do is figure out where to shove all the wires so the head unit fits! :o

Hi All

Im thinking of replacing the standard tape / radio in my mini facelift omega with a non vx one - can anyone please tell me if traffic master will still work?

Im assuming there must be some form of input into the head unit at the back which trafficmaster plugs into....

Cheers guys! :y

Omega General Help / Re: Projection headlight aim
« on: 31 October 2010, 08:21:30 »
Cheers guys, apologies for not posting earlier.

Luckily I have a quiet road where I live, so I spent an hour the other evening playing around with the alignment. With Osram Nightbreakers, I have actually achieved a decent level of light output (compared to before!)

Omega General Help / Projection headlight aim

Hi All

Firstly, a big thanks to sparksandnoise for supplying the aluminium headlight adjusters - fantastic bit of engineering!
I've re-assembled the headlight units, and had the vertical alignment checked, but Im not sure what the "horizontal" alignment should be.
Currently the N/S beam points directly ahead, and the O/S one converges with the N/S beam approx 20 feet in front of the car.
Can somebody please tell me if this is correct?
