Very interesting  - What is the Android device?

Have you considered a Raspberry Pi?

Is this something you would do as a service? Quite a few people here have CID's myself included, I'm sure there would be considerable interest this CID upgrade.

What kind of cost would we be looking at for a CID to have the RGB input and two composite added?

As above keep us updated, looks very good 

We're developing a complete device, based in ARM like raspberrypi but more powerful.

It comes with:

- Android 4.2
- GPS
- 4x USB Host
- Internet 3G (HSDPA)
- GSM
- 2x composite video input
- RGB/VGA output


All fully integrated in a small device of 100x120x30mm.

We hope it will be available in summer (probably August).

I would need a certain number of orders of the 4:3 CID video interface, that will allow the connection of the Android box, to make it worthwhile. In the Saab 93 forum I designed and produced the stock screen interface, but there were a lot of people interested.

Thats somewhat different and a lot neater than the one I saw on the German Forum, looks tidy  the Android bit is interesting. keep us informed.

How do you plan to control the Touch Screen feature of the OS?

In the Vectra B/omega as you know there is a plastic cover in the dashboard, so it is not possible to add a resistive touch panel (unles you make a cut in this plastic, leaving the speedo needles 'exposed' and not very esthetic ...). But using a touch pad or trackball through USB is perfectly possible, Android 4.2 natively supports HID peripherals.

This is the prototype installed in my car (Saab 93 SS). The stock navy screen is 400x234, only a bit more vert. resolution than the CID screen (320x234).

Hello,

I'm the designer of that interface. It allows one RGB input and two composite. One part of the interface is installed inside the CID:



We managed to get Windows mobile in the native resolution:



But right now we've found the Android much more interesting ...



So we're developing an Android GPS box compatible with the low res. stock navy displays, including the Opel 4:3 CID.

Tech2 cannot depair anything unless you know the original pairing code used.

Any of the people mentioned at http://theboy.omegaowners.com have the ability and knowledge to depair if the code is known, and repair to a code of your choice.

If your radio is already paired with a different code, you need to depair that first using original screen (or a screen in delivery mode).


Marks DTM, Dave DND and I are probably the few people in the country (world?) who can discover the radio pairing code, but as of yet, have neither the time, equipment or funds to discover CID pairing codes.

I think Dave DND can reset a CID to delivery mode, but I have not been able to test his method myself yet.

In Spain there is another person who is able to depair CID (return to Delivery State). The answer is to reset some memory locations inside 93c56.

Hello again, I have discovered memory locations to reset to get the CID unpaired. I have compared the content of unpaired CID memory and paired CID memory.

"My Naff Code Reader" says "theft protection: delivery state" on both CID 

I'm planning to go tomorrow to opel dealer and try to pair with TECH2.

KH is vectra B, KJ astra G/omega, but I think all them are placed in the same way, with the three contacts upside... it is why I do not understand what's happening

ok ... I'm now comparing the content of the two CID memories, 2k to make some test.

Today I soldered the 93c56 of the CID KJ on the board of KH and the image appeared inverted ! strange ...

I discover there is a little microwire serial memory 93C56 instaled on CID. When I desolder it, and conect the whole system without the memory, the CID shows "DISPLAY program". I guess that this memory contains the "pairing" and the config (engine, wheels, CID language ...)

Maybe if I solder an empty 93c56, and take the CID to opel dealer, they could program and pair it to my unpaired NCDR...

I know NCDR is unpaired, but I bought the CID and the guy said it was unpaired too!

I have another CID ... I thougth it was paired but i'm not sure ... when I connect this CID to unpaired NCDR, "RADIO SAFE" appears, blinking all the time, but never "display safe". Then .... this means I already had an unparied CID??? (I can't marry this old CID with "My Naff Code Reader")

Hello, I have already an NCDR and CID from astra G.

They are both unpaired, but I can't get paired them using "My Naff Code Reader".

when I connect the system, all works ok but the display shows DISPLAY SAFE and RADIO SAFE blinking.

Ok, thanks for the answers ... 2 more questions:


1 - Is there any posibility taking the radio + CID to Vauxhall dealer and connecting TECH2?  (remember, no car pass, no VIN ...)

2 - When I connect "My Naff Code Reader" interface (080114 software), I go to NCDR1100 and click on measuring blocks, I can read "theft protection -- unit disabled". I can read the same when I click on CID display. But DISPLAY SAFE appears everytime and not blinking. What's the meaning of that?

40 pin flash device....I suspect it actually the single device on its own rather than the twin 16bit setup.

Not to hard to remove, read and re-solder.....I have done FAR worse!

has anyone been able to remove flash memory, read and store the file? I think if you read the contents of two memories (am29lv16) of an unpaired/unmarried NCDR, and writing files to "married" flash, we will get our radio unpaired .... :-/

Yes. Cloning a unit as you describe is actually fairly easy by rewriting the two flash chips, but not without its problems though, and only works with an identical model of head unit. What we have not yet managed to achieve is to identify all of the the locations of the data within the flash memory that is required to be reset in order to unpair the units.

The problem with the cloning of memory dumps in this way is that you are usually using an earlier software version with the dump you are inserting and end up putting back into the stereo all of the bugs and faults that have been sorted out by the later software updates. If you can identify the correct data to be changed, then this can be done without affecting the existing software of the unit.

It doesnt matter if I flash my radio with an older file, I only want it works!! is a tall order a memory dump of the two AM29LV ?
