Omega General Help / Please Help! Unlimited problems!
« on: 10 June 2009, 09:11:51 »
Can someone please help. I had the gearbox changed 4 months ago now and havent been able to drive my car since. When I got my car back I had unlimited fault codes. after going to several garages and autoelectricians this is whats happend. I have changed the coil bank 4 times, Spark plugs, camshaft sensor, ECU unit, and now yesturday Lambda sensor bank 1 sensor 1.

And NOW I have another more codes come up now!

0170 Fuel trim malfunction bank 1
0161 02 sensor heater circuit bank 2 sensor 2

Theses fault codes are new since I changed the lambda of bank 1 sensor 1.

What do these new fault codes mean and what do I need to do to get sorted!

Like I say the car has been useless for 4 months now.

Please help

Whoa, hang on.

Has this had a box swap, in particular a gearbox conversion?

I have no idea as I know nothing about cars only how to drive one.

I am only going by what the Auto electrician said.

I have spent £800+ the last 3 months trying to get the faults sorted.

The auto electricians checked the coils, plugs, injectors and everything is perfect!

The car has been with them the last few days as they have been searching for the problem to the misfire.

There conclusion is the Ecu.

I want to get the Ecu changed so I can get an mot and sell the car! I have been advertising it locally as it is for £1,000.

But I know I can get nearly double if I spend the 200-300 to get fixed. but am happy to sell cheap as Iknow nothing about cars.

I have had loads and loads of problems since I had the gearbox changed 3 months ago.

Was strongly pulling back when you put your foot down to accelerate. Engine management light always on and flashes.

Fault codes
0130
0300
0301
0303
0305

I replaced the coil several times still says faults.
Changed camsaft sensor as was told this could be the problem
Changed sparkplugs

Still driving very very bad.

Been in the auto electrcians for the last 3 days as they tried to find the faults.

Got a call this morning from them saying all ignitions and coils are perfect and the last thing it can be it the ECU unit.

My ECU Engine has gone! I have been quoted £840 new or £100 used.

Can anyone please help with how to fit one of these? or shall I let an experienced person do it?
How easy is it to change?

Thanks

I have tried EVERYTHING to get my car sorted. Can anyone help.

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1237388341/new

I have since taken my car to the auto electrician for 3 hours yesturday who says my whole engine needs to be stripped and car on the ramp.

The diagnostics read.

Lamber 1 bank 1 was all over the place holding readings before jumpin.

Lamber 1 bank 2 was good.

lamber 2 bank 1 was reading 20 without movement - should be 450
lamber 2 bank 2 was also reading 20 without movement.

0130, 0300, 0301,0303,0305

But all cylinders have been checked, plugs and coil bank. everything is ok.

Can anyone else suggest anything as it is going to cost me £200 to get the engine stripped thats without even guarenteeing to find the problem them parts on top.

PLEASE HELP.

Thanks

I just drove the car 1/2 mile without disconnecting my sensors, and ALL my fault codes have returned.

0130
0300
0301
0303
0305

This is after 4 coil changes, spark plugs replaces, camshaft sensor changed.

What can it be? no-one seems to know!?

Anymore ideas apart from blowing the shitty car up

So in layman terms disconnect and the front for example and see if there is an improvement. If it is then replace the front...

I have checked the sensor leads and there seems to be nothing wrong there,

Guess the next option is to replace the sensor. But how do I know what 1 needs changing? Front?Rear or both?

Any ideas?
