Omega General Help / Re: Some problems that need attention
« on: 23 March 2009, 20:56:04 »
Thanks for that guys i will source a manual now i know which one covers the engine. What about the rest of the car does the Omega petrol version cover it??

It is diesel. I will take a pic of the part that has the pipes detached and leaking. Perhaps this will help identify what it is and which way round the pipes go.

I am a electronic engineer so i am good with a soldering iron. Is the display easy to get out??

Omega General Help / Some problems that need attention
« on: 23 March 2009, 20:31:58 »
Hi all
Just bought R reg Omega 2.5 TD CDX Auto Estate with the BMW engine. I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone here could answer.

1 Where on earth can I get a car maintance book from that covers the BMW engine.

2. I bought the car off my farther who had just had a job done on the steering. He then found he had a small leak of oil over the right hand side of the engine compartment. I have traced this to a small black device which should have 3 small pipes comming off it, only one is still attached. One of the pipes I found detached has a blue stripe on it and goes to what looks like a small flying saucer on the side of the engine the other detached pipe I have yet to trace where it comes from. Can anyone help?

3. The drivers door lock does not go all the way down when using the remote central locking. It also refuses to lift up 70% of the time when using the remote central locking.

4. The LCD display in the middle of the dash board id displaying broken text. Is this repairable or has the whole display got to be changed?

Thanks for any help.  :-/
