Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: cam or crank sensor

I did change the cam covers and have checked for trapped and damaged wires.
the breathers were cleaned recently.
Can thet affect it.
Went to the scrappies as the had a 2.6 v6 in a old one and pulled of the sensor. which is different it never had a lead coming off and a different plug. wish i haddn't tho because i then got myself a new one which had a differnt connector to mine but the same as the srcappie plug.
so i chopped of the plug on the loom and fitted the scrappie plug so i could fit the new sensor.( read a bit on the forum about peaple having to mess around with plug so thought it was the thing to do.)
Any way the traction control light came on when i tried that and that and that is what happens when there is no sensor fitted.
so i swapped the outside 2 wires the traction light went off but the big orange stayed on and it was still lumpy
so i anm now waiting for the right part to turn up and have some soldering to do so it will fit.
i called the aa out and the nice man is 95 % sure its the sensor.
we will see there could well be a cry for help again tommorrow if all fails.
I take it there are a range of sensors to suit the different brains??
any more things you can think off i should check?
